How to Apply
01Suggested Usage: -For a clean eyeliner makeup look, apply the pencil along the upper lash line from the inner to outer corner, pulling the product out slightly to create a sharp wing.
02-For a sultry, smoky effect, smudge the gel eyeliner immediately after application and then apply a little of the product to the waterline.
03-Finish your look with the Marc Jacobs Born Star Eyeshadow and Flashes Mascara (each sold separately).
I waited for this release. I would monitor Reddit threads to track When they would re release this and bought it as soon as it hit Sephora. Everything was a disappointment and I’m so sad about this. Lipsticks - dry. The eyeliner left my eye teary and itchy. So so disappointed.

Smudges and very difficult to sharpen.
I have watery, oily, allergy ridden eyes. The Mark Jacobs Highliner Gel Eyeliner was the only eyeliner I have ever used that didn't smudge and wind up all underneath my eyes, even when I used it on my lash line. So when I saw that he was back, I have never hit submit so quickly on an order! Sadly though, this new formula is quite the disappointment. I was really excited when I bought these eyeliners because I expected them to be high-quality, especially since they’re from Marc Jacobs, but unfortunately they were nowhere near what I expected. I bought two shades, burgundy and brown, and honestly I regret buying both.

Don’t bother
At first I was so excited because the old Marc Jacobs eyeliner was my absolute favorite! I have been trying to find a dupe since it was discontinued and when I saw this in the store I was over the moon! While the liner itself is ok, it does transfer but only when it’s immediately been put on, otherwise it’s fine all day. Very disappointed. Bought two of these because I was so excited it was back. This is not the same formula as it was before. This runs and gathers in the corners. The old formula outlasted my 12 hour shifts and did not run.

Love the liner hate the plastic sharpening
As good as the original. Doesn’t smudge and lasts all day EXCEPT it is brutal to sharpen, making it have sharp edges.

Great liner, difficult to sharpen
Great pencil, smooth, blendable or can look sharp, as desired. Unfortunately the instructions should be more clear about sharpening it, preferably providing a sharpener as it is hard plastic. Used my trusty UD Grindhouse and even that butchered the pencil!

The formula works well for me and I love the pigmentation but I legitimately cannot sharpen this thing. I was only able to use until the first sharpening and now it’s basically broken. I have tried three different types of sharpeners along with using a retractable knife to try and do it manually and nooooope.

Nothing like the original pencil.
I loved the original Marc Jacobs eyeliners, but this one I would not buy again or recommend. They do last, but horrible to sharpen. It waste the eyeliner, plus leaves pencil spikes that don't get removed when sharpened. Overall, too pricey for it to be wasted. How sad.

Great color and application…but sharpening is AWFUL!!! Hopefully this issue can be resolved, because the eyeliner itself is excellent! Would recommend but note that sharpening is an issue. I loved the old style better.

Very difficult to Sharpen
Gorgeous color and very pigmented but my goodness it’s virtually impossible to sharpen and hazardous to your eye health becomes bits of the pencil flake off in your eyes and if not sharpened well enough the edges are jagged and practically cut your eyelids or inner eyes. The Sephora sharpener does not work for these but the Urban Decay sharpener does a better job - still not the best Marc Jacobs needs to go back to the drawing board for this product or do some product development and come...

I tried Delulu in store and it was noticeable. I got home and tried it and it was hardly noticeable on my eye. It also seems to struggle over foundation or concealer.

Disappointed
I was so excited, and wanted to love it, but it was a huge disappointment. for reference i bought FACTS. Color doesn't last, its hard, to sharpen, and as you apply it it gets crooked almost melts off.

This product can not be sharpened. I have tried many, many cosmetic sharpeners to no avail. If I had continued, I probably would have a stub left. I am wanting to return this item.

Change the packaging!
Love the color, very creamy, and stayed on. However, the material used for the pencil is so hard to sharpen! I tried several brands of sharpeners, including the Sephora one someone mentioned, and none sharpened this eyeliner smoothly. I ended up wasting a portion of the eyeliner just to get a decent point on it. Won’t be repurchasing.

Love it but needs improvement
I’ve been waiting for the Marc Jacobs eyeliner to come back because it was the only eyeliner that didn’t smudge, so I wouldn’t end up looking like a panda by the end of the day. 😂
The new one performs pretty much the same as the old one, but as others have mentioned, the pencil breaks easily and gets eaten up by the sharpener. It was fine at first, but about halfway through, the tip started breaking when I sharpened it and became difficult to keep sharp.
I really hope they can improve this...

This is honestly the best liner I've ever used. Pigmented, long lasting, and smudge proof. It is a challenge to get off, and do yourself a favor and get the Sephora sharpener with it. This will laugh at your other sharpeners. Love these!!

Bleeds nonstop
don’t waste your money on this product. It is terrible. I’ve given it four chances and each time it bleeds and goes all over my under eyes after 10 minutes. There’s no reason it should be this expensive and performing this poorly.

New favorite liner!
I was a huge fan of the Marc Jacobs liners from long ago, so I was excited to give this a try. Great pigmentation and excellent staying power! My eyes tend to water slightly and this eyeliner doesn’t run at ALL! My new favorite- definitely will be buying more shades!

The colors of these eyeliners are truly phenomenal, especially shade delulu. However, I find the formula quite mediocre. They’re not the creamiest and sometimes I find myself having to tug a bit to get the color payoff I want, and the lasting power isn’t the best. This eyeliner doesn't smudge or smear and lasts all day. A new favorite, so much so I bought several more shades (black, brown, burgundy, glitter black, and bronze). Will be getting more of the "fun" colors soon too!

Absolutely NOT worth the money
I truly wish I could give a good review but....I've been using this and the dark grey eyeliner every day, and every single time, it'll immediately be smudged just from me blinking. Doesn't last on the waterline, and trying to add and layer just rubbed off the product. Genuinely, I have my NYX eyeliner and that lasts longer and stays on so much better. Will continue trying to see what I can do.

Pigmented but chunky and uncomfortable to wear
Argh, why is it so chunky? I had to use a small brush to smooth it out. And that didn’t even really work. It’s uncomfortable on the eyes. I’m a dailies contact wearer so it shouldn’t be that bad. The burgundy is so flattering and pigmented but there’s too many no’s to purchase again for me

Good product, questionable sharpening
[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I have the shade HMU. It’s supposed to be black with gold shimmer, but I mostly just see black. It goes on smooth and is creamy, and showed up in my tightline. The lid with the star on it is super cute. I needed to sharpen it, and that did not go so well, but that could just be me!
