Slip n slide

No matter what I do, this stuff slides right off the lid. Creases like I never even had it on. I bought 2 shades to try them out and they both are awful. So disappointed.

My first product from MJ I’m highly impressed with the wear on this I have worn it over and under eye shadows it’s just fabulous! I also got an eyeliner to compliment I will be buying more colors asap

Amazing shade and wear

I was SO excited to receive this product as I loved Marc Jacob’s beauty many years ago so the brand relaunch has been so great to see! This eyeshadow did not disappoint and I feel like this shade was meant for me. I have blue eyes and Spicy makes my eyes absolutely pop! It’s also extremely long wearing and has been an amazing product to have in my makeup bag this summer for the many weddings I’ve attended!

Beautiful color and formula but pricey and bulky

Beautiful color and formula. This is my go to for an every day look. I typically apply this shade as a topper and it is stunning and lasts all day. At first I had some trouble with creasing but after prepping my eyelids better, I haven’t had that issue. I love the packaging as well, it’s very cute. However, it’s a bit bulky and hard to store . Between that and the price, I can’t really see myself buying more than just the one shade I have, which is unfortunate.

Beautiful and unique product

Silky formula with high pigment payoff. The packaging is sleek and looks gorgeous under vanity lights. I have 3 colors and I love them all!

I swatched shade 'Serving' in store and loved it but didn't buy it right off due to some of the negative reviews. I decided it was worth trying it for myself and I'm so glad I did! The texture, sparkle and color are truly beautiful! I especially love that it doesn't leave sparkly residue all over my under-eye area like some other shadows do. So far I have not had any issues with creasing. Definitely a new favorite!

ALMOST perfect.

While the formula is BUTTERY soft, and the shades are GORGEOUS, it’s a bit irresponsible to call this “long-wearing”, as it certainly is not that. I assumed it would act like a TRUE smudge-proof and creaseless product, which are so common now, but it leaves a lot to be desired on that front.

Overpriced

Pretty colors and packaging is so cute but $40 for eyeshadow is overkill. Pass. Brands need to start making SINGLE shadows for 20 dollars max . Price gouging is insane. (The duochrome are cool and unique thou mane worth the higher price) but not the rest!

Was not happy with the product at all. The color barely came out for the price I thought it would be better.

Glitter for literal days

Gorgeous, HOWEVER, the super fine micro glitter sticks to the skin after washing it off. I have washed my face 6 times since I last applied it and I still have bits of blue glitter particles in various areas of my face. Even the skin areas of my eyebrows. Returned it.

Does not stay on

I’m assuming the other reviews are paid because although I love the packaging even with a primer and setting spray, this does not stay on

This is an absolutely beautiful eyeshadow! The packaging is stunning. I’m not sure if others are opening it upside down or what but I had no issues with it falling out. Just slide the top over while holding up and you shouldn’t have an issue. It’s got an interesting texture, slightly creamy on first touch then turns to powder. Did I get a bad one?

I was so excited to try out this formula after watching and reading so many reviews. I ordered one to pick up asap. I swiped the pan and it felt like a normal dry powder shadow! No creaminess or bounce! I then swatched it on my hand and it was still powdery AND patchy. I did not expect this. I'll have to swing by and see if I can exchange this one, but not till I swatch a tester. My absolute new go-to!

I’ve completely fallen in love with this eyeshadow! The texture is amazing, it goes on super smooth like a cream but blends seamlessly like a powder. It has officially become my absolute daily essential. Some days I use it as a base, and other days I just sweep it all over for a quick, effortless look. Highly recommend if you want a reliable everyday shade!

Meh

I had high expectations after seeing the promo photos for the color On Brand. The shadow was not as pigmented as it seems in the photo - I would call it sheer - and I was unable to build it up so that it wasn’t sheer. I also didn’t like the reddish undertone, but it was long wearing. Not worth $29 in my opinion, I returned. If I had seen IRL before buying I would have passed.

Gorgeous color shifting eyeshadow!

This eyeshadow is gorgeous! I purchased the color "Clapback" and it has a pink/purple to green shift (it's hard to photograph the shift) and it's so pretty! It's a cream to powder shadow that goes on smoothly and it stays on throughout the day. The packaging is also top tier and super cute. I highly recommend this shadow and look forward to purchasing more colors! ❤️

Creases badly, color misleading

I bought the shade Serving. It appears a little lighter in person than in the ads. Also it is one of those (light) reddish-brown based shadows with blue reflects, duochrome type and that isn't really apparent from the photos either. Beautiful texture

I bought this colour to use as a liner colour, and there’s enough to last my lifetime. The texture is awesome! I’d love to buy more colours for that reason but I honestly don’t see any that really appeal all that much….hopping for more new colours

Bought it for the packaging

The color shade is beautiful but the quality is so poor. After opening it I slightly tilted it and all the shade came off and broke in two pieces. Could manage to put both pieces back in. I had already purchased the blush and bronzer because of the packaging and they are ok and waiting for the lipstick. So disappointing.

Perfection

I love everything about it. its the ultimate 1- and done shadow. I use a primer for all shadows and this one lasts all day and into the evening with a primer under it. I have very sensitive eyes, and this doesn't bother my eyes. love it.

Allergic reaction

Loved this color so much. Unfortunately, It gave me an allergic reaction on my eyelids. I think the pigments they used to make this caused it. It’s been years since an eyeshadow caused an allergy. Besides that the shade also faded throughout the day. I wish I could keep it because it is a beautiful color.

Packaging Complaint

opened it and the shadow immediately popped out of the packaging spilling all over. not sure if mine was defective, a good amount of the product was unusable and difficult to fix.

it’s ok but the amount of product is not

this product is fine. on brand is a nice go-to color to use as a base/in-the-crease color that blends out nicely. that said there’s nothing special about this shadow and the price for the amount of product you’re getting is absurd. i LOVED the old MJB eyeshadow and still have a couple. there was more than twice as much product for around the same price. yes, inflation, but i wouldn’t buy another one of these because they’re just not special enough to justify it.

Pretty color, disastrous formula

The color is gorgeous and used with an eye shadow primer, lasts all day. The PROBLEM is that the eyeshadow itself needs to be handled extra delicately. It's a formula issue that others on here have complained about. Just know this needs to be seated on your counter cause if you throw it in your makeup bag, you're looking at an expensive mess.

Cream to powder eyeshadow with a beautiful finish!

Be extra careful when opening…

Was extremely excited to try this product. Brought it in 2 shades, the pink one was fine. The gold one fell out when I opened it and made a mess all over my floor. Never had that happen before… will be returning that one at least. I had to stuff the product I could at least pick up back into the packaging…

a HUGE win for contact lens wearers

Simply put.. these shadows are one of the FEW to have the callouts it does -safe for contact lens wearers -opthalmologist tested -Fallout free -suitable for sensitive eyes these are super important things for the eyeball that a lot of people including cosmetic companies either don't care about or don't care enough about to call it out. Pretty as glitter topper

super disappointing :( probably the worst creasing cream shadow I have ever used- & that's even using a primer underneath. Vanishes Fast and Creases

Regarding 170 That's Cute. I was super excited for this product. It looked bold and fun! But the powder isn't as creamy as a swatch makes you think. It's almost like a light oil binds it together. The pigments travel anywhere they want as the day goes on, and it breaks down even with a primer. They attach to other shadows on a blended look and vanish into them. Every blink rubs away a little more. Within 5 hours my eye was basically bare. I can only assume positive reviews are from nude...

This eyeshadow came with the cutest packaging. I love how creative the star shape is. It went on smoothly on my skin. It is perfect shade after getting a tan. I really like it.

If someone could let me know of a primer for this I’ve tried urban decay, Mac, morphe, tarte but it creases everytime. And I use these primers with other shadows and they do not crease. I love the colors I got of this very beautiful design but I need it Not to crease b beaux

sparkly shadow

My first one came broken and clearly defective. The product clearly didn’t fit the pan. I received a replacement that wasn’t defective. It’s fine. I love the packaging but the shadow is fussy and will crease even with a good primer. Side note… Sephora customer service was phenomenal.

The ultimate one and done

Literally just one swipe required for a perfect, no fuss, no mess look. You can build it up for more impact, but I like how well this color in particular balances the neutral base with the bit of shimmer. Definitely stocking up on others in the line as soon as I have a chance.

Not for crepey, oily eyelids. Creases immediately. Applied with finger and blended out with rephr 801 Brush. Didn’t wear well either. Lovely color. Perhaps a matte finish in this color will come to the collection in the future. Returned.

Unexpectedly Wonderful

I got this because when Marc Jacob’s had make up years ago I was obsessed with his line but it’s a nice color but mine looks like it shrunk in the packaging idk if that’s possible. Bad swatch photos

I think it’s a good eyeshadow. The problem is that it (140 Shady) looked like a cool/neutral toned shimmer in the swatch photo. It is not. It is very gold and orange/warm. So disappointing —I hate that companion longer use ACTUAL swatches for their photos and just use computer generated images instead. I really wanted to use this but it is way too golden

Low durability

The eyeshadow isn’t long-lasting for the price, and it’s not as pigmented as it appears. The packaging is beautiful, but it’s not worth the price. I returned both eyeshadows I bought—the brown one and the pink one.

Got mine shade 230 Serving and it is really nice! It goes on well and it blends great! The only reason why I gave it 3 stars is cause the price is a bit much for 1 shade and the other reason is it took a minute to find a spot for this shadow cause of the packaging. Even though the packaging is cute and all, it is pretty bulky. It doesn't lay flat. It is like those helium balloons.

Smooth Application

Beautiful eyeshadow! Because it’s a cream to powder eyeshadow, there’s definitely a learning curve. I prepped my eyelids with MAC paint pot, used a packing, & blending brush. Pack & blend until you get the look you want. Be patient with the formula. It did not fade or crease on me at all, all day! I did pack & blend plenty, def worth it. Great as a one & done eyeshadow look. Would buy again!

It has great buildable colour pay off...but unfortunately creases and fades no matter what I do! I've tried different primers (Smashbox is my go-to, Urban Decay my back up), and even tried using an eyeshadow powder base before layering this on. All failed, super sad. Beautiful colour, but I returned it. For $40 CAD I won't keep for something that only lasts a couple hours. Maybe not one for hooded lids.

The packaging is so cute, this color is so gorgeous for green eyes, the perfect slightly yellow brown. but even with shadow primer it creases and seemed to fade. Great formula and packaging!

First off BEAUTIFUL! I love the star shaped slide to open compact its in. I got the color metallic black which i wore for date night. It was a stay in date night so i did a subtle smoke out which is hard to see in pictures but i promise it looked gorgeous! Its a buildable formula so it can be light or dark. I recommend and im definitely getting more colors:)!

Good formula, but bad packaging

Love the eyeshadow formula, but hate the tacky and cheap packaging! Serving is an everyday wearable shimmer that does not end up all over your face at the end of the day. Serving reminds me of the special shade that is in the Prada 09 Primula color.

Long lasting

The eyeshadows are pretty, smooth on textured lids, and last a long time! I have hooded eyes, so most of the time eyeshadows do not last on me. I was shocked that six hours later, it was still there. I am giving it four stars because the packaging looks like it came out of the Party City store! The packaging is not Avant-garde/innovative; it just looks cheap, tacky, and childish. I think you can be fun and whimsical without being tacky.

Very flattering

Looks Nothing Like It Does Online!

I was so looking forward to receiving this once it finally came back in stock. Unfortunately, it's going back, and I couldn't be more disappointed. In person, the color is a weird gold-pinkish-copper shade that absolutely does not work for me. I also thought it was a shimmer, but instead, it's full of larger pieces of glitter, which doesn't work for me anymore. I do like the brand's eyeliners, so I'll stick with those, but I probably won't try any of the other eyeshadows.

Amazing formula but the color was more of a rusty orange than hot pink. Super disappointing. Found most of the collection does not look the same in person as the swatches online look.

Get the Special Shades!

I really wanted this for the packaging because it's so cute. I have tried many different special shades of eyeshadow from mainstream to indie brands, so I have a lot to compare. The shade serving is sooo pretty. Smooth, creamy, easy to apply, and NO fallout. This is one of the better eyeshadow formulas I've tried. I was expecting a taupe brown based on the pictures but the shade Act Natural is more on the reddish brown side. Still beautiful and still bendable enough to get a lighter brown. Blends with little to no fallout and very creamy. The packaging is super cute!!

Gorgeous neutral shade

I got the eyeshadow in shade 100 and it surprised me because it was much darker than expected, but it ended up becoming such a gorgeous matte red brown on my skin. Okay Product, Weird Packaging

Good pigment payoff and a good amount of product overall, probably one of the best products of the new launch. Act Natural is a unique warm color. Packaging is a bit awkward and bulky. Not as easy to blend- last okay during the day but bleed a bit.

I don’t think I have ever loved an eyeshadow more than I do this one and 140 !!! Color is gorgeous and sits very well on the eyes. While for the price point is a bit much for a single shadow, personally it was a well deserved slurge!

Ok so the packaging is really cute and seems sturdy. The shade is also beautiful. BUT this creases. I even used a primer because I know I have oily eyelids. I have not tried using a powder or a matte eyeshadow in the crease, but for $30 aI should not have to eyeshadow

It only seems to last about four hours, even with a primer. I like the case that comes in. And it also looks good as a lip color when mixed with chapstick. The color itself is pretty but not the color i expected based on the website. Its more of a metalic maroon. Wish it lasted longer.

Pleasantly surprised

The cutesy packaging is not my favorite, but the matte eyeshadow exceeded my expectations. It applies smoothly, & blends easily without much effort. I still have several old MJ eyeshadow singles, but I think this formula has them beat. The shade ‘On Brand’ is nice as a transition for other shadows, or a one-and-done. I’ll probably pick up a darker shade when there is a restock.

Lovely shade. Very similar to Urban decay moondust shade Soltice in color. Despite the swatches it looks very lavender/purple pink on eye. Minimal fallout. Soft and buttery. Not sure why you’d get these singles in a basic shade.. but in a special shade like this.. totally worth it because the formula is really nice. The packaging is juvenile, feels cheap and Hate it.

Beautiful duochrome

I got the color mood swing and its so pretty. As you can see in the photo of how pearlescent and sparkly it looks. The blue and purple blend perfectly. You have to layer it to get the full effect or a little bit just to sparkle. The eyeshadow has a buttery/soft texture.

I think I’m gonna return this. It is pigmented and soft and beautiful but it’s not metallic. The packaging is amazing but the shade isn’t what it’s described as and it’s too expensive for what it is.

I am only seeing incentivized reviews on here so far with no similar experiences….so it could have been just mine. But I have been counting down to ordering and it just arrived today. [I received this product in exchange for my honest review] i love the packaging! so cute. the eyeshadow itself is so soft and very pigmented (you can build away with this one). i don’t know if the shade is for me, but i’ll play around with it a bit. also, it feels invisible? not at all heavy like other eyeshadows!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I’ve used this shadow a few times since I received it and I love it! I love the glitter and the feel. It’s soo buttery soft and buildable. If you want it to look like you have just a dust of glitter you can put very little and if you want a lot just build on top! And the packaging is just an A+ soo cute looks like a little balloon

The best color shifting shadow I’ve tried!

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] Oh my gaw! I use a lot of multi-chrome eyeshadows. Theres either a lot of fall out or a lot of applying the shadow. Not Marc Jacob’s multichrome. Bc it’s cream to powder, there’s no fall out and it applies perfectly the first time. The shade is GORGEOUS! It’s 210 Clapback and the colors just shift depending on where I’m looking. Not to mention the most adorable case it comes in. I’m in love! I will be buying some other colors now bc...

First of all, this is the most adorable packaging I’ve ever seen. It looks like a little star shaped balloon. I love how easily it swings open. You can literally use it with one hand. It’s a powder but then kind of gets a little buttery. It’s super easy to apply and the color is more natural than it even looks in the packaging very pigmented, but blends out beautifully.

Loooove the packaging! At first glance it looked like your typical powder eyeshadow, but it did in fact go on like a cream. It blended so well and you don't need a lot of product. I got the shade Hater and it can be versatile for day and night looks. I would love to definitely buy other shades in this or even see an eyeshadow palette made with this formula! 10/10!
