The Holy Grail

The holy grail. Beautiful finish and when your skin is prepped properly it will not settle into fine lines or wrinkles. It’s all day wear (I used a setting spray). I’ve tried every high end foundation and always come back.

AMAZINGGG

I have very bad deep acne and combination skin with some very bad dry patches. This foundation is the first one I’ve found in 2 years that doesn’t cause creasing or worsen my acne. I’ve tried all the viral ones and this one takes the cake. Worth the price makes your skin look so good!!!

Still my go to foundation

My continuous ride or die foundation. I have tried every foundation out there (high end, mid-priced, low priced) and none have compared so far. The only one that has been close is Armani, but it’s like cement on my face.

No. Just no. This foundation is nothing but it a disappointment. It was greasy it’s separated half my face was blotchy and missing at the end of the day.

So little product for a $49 full size tube

Very small amount of product for $49. I used it twice (in small amounts) and the tube is already half empty. There are other foundations on the market that give you a thousand times more product AND look better.

Dry as the Sahara

The color match is great, but that’s where it ended. I have no idea how this is marketed as a hydrating foundation because it made my skin so dry as soon as it goes on and it just gets worse as the hours tick by.

I love the finish but it’s not the best for oily skin. Also, it hasn’t been a year since I bought it because it started to get dark spots inside the bottle. At first it was like one or two dots so I tried shaking it and it got mixed with the product, but then hald of the bottle and product turned a weird grayish black color and I just had to throw it away.

Favourite for everyday

OMG! I have tried sooo many foundations, this is absolutely beautiful it genuinely lives up to it’s name. the shade match is so perfect for me and its very light coverage but is build able without looking like a caked mess. This foundation is worth every penny

It was a perfectly serviceable foundation in terms of texture and coverage. The coverage is okay, looks *somewhat* natural, but the neutral is extremely extremely EXTREMELY yellow. I just don't know how I could ever trust a MUA brand that can't get skin color right

I love the way this feels and works with my other products. That alone was enough to keep me using it. Add to it that since I’ve started using it, I’ve had multiple people stop to tell me how amazing my skin is, and I’m super sold.

This foundation has been the only foundation to hold up in this Texas heat for me! It doesn’t dry out my skin or cause me to break out like other brands. It’s lightweight and will definitely keep buying. I have been using this and the setting spray for over a year.

Dry Skin Dream

I absolutely love this foundation! Extremely light weight. Not overly glowy but hydrating on my dry skin. It lasts all day once set down and it makes my skin look incredibly smooth. This foundation is incredibly underrated and no one talks about it enough!

Blurred Effect I Didn’t Think Was Possible

I use this with the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Blurring & Matte Full Coverage Foundation and oh my gooosshhhh—the mix, the shades, and the result are incredible! It gives me a legit blurred effect and matches my skin tone perfectly. I never thought a foundation could make my skin look this smooth, especially in pictures, since I have visible pores from acne damage—but this makes it possible. It covers imperfections beautifully, and I am 100% here for it!

Mold causing me to have rashes and watery eyes

Very sick from mold found in foundation. My eyes have been very badly watering. I went to the dr 2x. I thought it was allergies from pollen. Recently, my skin also began breaking out in rashes. I decided to stop using it and my eye is 100% better. After reading the reviews, I poured the product onto a piece of white paper and saw several large crystals of mold fungus in the foundation. Absolutely disgusting. This product should be recalled.

This is the second time I purchased this foundation. For reference my skin is combination dry on the checks and oily on forehead and chin. This foundation gives me just the right coverage and is buildable. Consistency is a little liquidy but is a beautiful coverage.

Not for me

I’m over 40 and read reviews that this was supposed to be good for mature skin. What I found was my skin was not beautiful. This did not make my skin beautiful. I don’t have dry skin on my face, but this product created and then clung to dry patches. It also clung to my wrinkles and made them more pronounced. A gorgeous natural glowing sheen!

If you’re looking for a beautiful medium coverage foundation that provides a a nice sheen, then this foundation is for you. I was able to apply it easily with a damp beauty blender. The color I picked was perfect and matched my tone perfectly. The only issue I ran across is I’m 51 and have mature skin with some wrinkles. I have been using the merit foundation for years and decided to try something different. It was a MISTAKE. I only used this foundation twice and it broke me out so badly 🥲 definitely going back to Merit.

Flawless Finish and Long-Lasting

This is probably the worst foundation I ever tried. It’s heavy and just sit on your skin and looking very make-upy. Just don’t buy this.

maybe better underneath a different foundation?

this foundation barely has any coverage.. it just looks like i’m smearing discoloration around my face. it’s way too sheer. for someone that has oily pink, fair, blemished skin, i find that face/ base products with glimmer are incompatible. they excentuate my small flaws. maybe if you don’t have oily skin you could use this as a product similar to the hollywood flawless filter?? but i have better foundations that are still apply naturally and also give me more coverage.

Mold!!!

I need to put the warning out. I bought this in August 2024. In February 2025 I noticed two dime size grey spots in the bottle. I called Charlotte Pillsbury, and they suggested that it was mold and wanted me to send pictures, but because I did not buy it through Charlotte Tillberry I had a hard time trying to figure out how to email them so now if it’s in the trash. Not for sensitive skin

It made my skin break out so bad! And I looked very oily after a couple of hours after applying.

Pretty good the color match was the main thing that was the best part of the foundation. But it seemed not to last throughout the day. Probably won’t buy again.

I don't like it

The shine is a bit too strong for me and makes my skin look oily. It also makes my pore more obvious than usual, although in real life it doesn't look as bad as this picture. Also it didn't make skin flawless even if I applied a thick layer of it. The good thing is that its hydrating and doesn't feel cakey on my dry skin

It’s MOLD so quickly

It’s a BEAUTIFUL foundation BUT it’s MOLD, I thought it was me not take care of it good so I bought a new one, it’s MOLD after 3 months, very disappointed on a $59 that’s mold very quick even though it’s very beautiful finish.

If I could rate this a 0 I would. This is horrible on my skin. It cracks up and looks cakey immediately after applying it. I’ve tried everything! Moisturizers, primers, no primer etc. I even tried using a gentle application by using my fingers and still nothing. I wish I could get my moneys worth.

I’ve tried so many different foundations but I will always go back to this one! It’s advertised as medium coverage but it can always cover my acne scars and any other blemishes. It has the perfect dewy finish and all other products sit perfectly on top.

BEST FORMULA

I’m typically a olive tone in the winter and a chocolate tone in the summer and this shade is so perfect i didn’t even realize the lady put it on when she shade matched me, so creamy not streaky at all i was skeptical at first because i never see black girls wearing charlotte tilburry but i don’t regret my purchase, its a small bottle but i barely made a dent in it and ive had it for almost a month now, a little goes such a long way.

Clings to imperfections for dear life

It’s pretty if you have zero texture or open pores but then if you go and use a product to emulate that it doesn’t sit well on top of anything dry or anything oily… it literally clings to spots I didn’t even know I had. Every time I’ve tried to make this work I end up having to take it all off and just use my regular foundation which sucks cause I really wanted this to work!! My only plus is that I have super sensitive skin g and am allergic to LITERALLY EVERYTHING and this didn’t break me...

The formula had a smooth, liquid consistency, practically gliding over my face when I applied it with a brush. Oxidizes after application

This stuff is ok, but it oxidizes over time. I’ve been colour matched twice and got the same match both times, but it goes very orange after application. It also separates in the tube after a couple of weeks and is difficult to mix back together.

Pleasant Surprise

The Sephora shade selector was spot on this time, and I’m glad I tried this foundation. Nice, truly neutral color. Does not dry out my skin and even though it’s not touted as long wearing, it does not rub off on everything, either.

I’ve only used once but loved the way it looked on my skin. Great coverage. I also haven’t used foundation since covid, only tinted moisturizer. So far, so good!

But why?

Product complete separated after only 3-4 months. I tried shaking it up but it wouldn't really mix back up. Since this was a pretty expensive product, I thought I'd try and see if I could still wear it a bit longer, but when it dried it left little circles like you would see in dried nail polish that had air bubbles. So right into the bin it went.

Jury is still out.

I like the moist factor as opposed to the matte, but coverage is not so great. As with trying all new products, there is a learning curve.

Weird pigment & consistency

A Miss for Me

Shade 4 Neutral: Nowhere near the beautiful finish of the now discontinued Light Wonder. Oh well! I used most of it, but stopped before the tube was finished and started using it diluted with sunscreen on my arms & legs - not my preferred use of an expensive foundation. It wasn't terrible, just thicker and less radiant than I'd like - too thick around crepey skin. Mixing with Flawless Filter helped.

My Holy Grail Product!

Well I must say that I literally have tried NEARLY all of them! I am in my late 40s with menopausal/hormonal skin that is definately not extremely dry at all. Tried this in a sample first as I was looking to breakup with my Fenty foundation as I always felt it was a little on the heavy side for me and wanting something more medium weight. Loved the sample, so 2 days later I decided to purchase a full size. Wore all day and then went to remove my makeup before bed to discover I had MULTIPLE breakouts and my skin was red and blotchy. Pass, It’s Not The Best CTB Product Out There

Not a fan, I thought it would be lightweight and sheer. It’s pretty thick and heavy for a foundation that is made with hyaluronic acid. Didn’t layer well with my other cosmetics either. There are a few other foundations that also have better coverage, weight, and colors. The undertones didn’t work for me either.

I bought CT beautiful skin after months of umming and ahhing about this product. For reference, I've never owned foundation and have always worn Bareminerals tinted cream in shade spice 08. I wanted something with a bit more coverage but still gave me that glowy, sun kissed look I get from Bareminerals Tinted cream and this did just that.

Hydrating But Not Good for Pores

This really used to work for me but now really settles into the pores in the worst way. It has a nice finish and is hydrating for anyone with drier skin. This does cling to some of my dry patches, however. Full disclosure, I wear the Haru Haru Wonder sunscreen underneath and allow for time to set but find that this wears off quickly and isn't buildable. I'm 39 with combo normal dry skin. Ok foundation but broke me out

I use the beautiful skin concealer and works beautifully on my skin so I decided to give the foundation a try and this gave me acne. Under the skin, cystic acne that hurts. Would not recommend.

I wish I could have loved this foundation. Charlotte Tilbury is one of the only brands with my exact pasty white shade. unfortunately I had to return this product as it made me as shiny as a lamp post. Best foundation ive tried

Never had the best of luck when it came to foundations until a Sephora employee helped me to find this amazing product. Yes it is on the more expensive side but i think if your going to splurge of something it should be your foundation. This product went on very smoothly. Medium coverage but buildable foundation covers acne and pores and looks beautiful with charlottes setting powder.

Not for me

I’ve tried so many foundations. Once I turned 50 my skin began to change. Complications with medical conditions made it harder. Skincare is the key to good makeup results. This is a good sadly all of this brand runs to orange or red for my olive skin foundation just not for my skin, it showed enhanced any texture or pores I have.m

Covers like a foundation, light like a skin tint!

Smoothing and gives me flawless skin

I don't understand what all the hype was about. not for me! which I do have dry skin but this stuff stuck to it and I think made it worst. definitely not worth the price! I've had Walmart makeup look better.

Good not great

I've been using this for a couple of weeks and like it but don't love it. I have dry skin so I'm used to heavier products but it's too thick for my taste, even if it doesn't feel heavy once on. I'd expect it to last longer for being so thick, but it fades pretty quickly. I do like that the color doesn't oxidize like others do so it stays true to when you put it on. I'm 50 and have good skin but wrinkles and it does camouflage them pretty well.

Super light foundation but can offer light to full coverage depending on application. Perfect to mix with face cream too!

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I like this foundation. It blends into my skin and leaves it looking smooth and even without any heaviness. It wears throughout the day beautifully. But it is very expensive for such a small tube of product.

Was very surprised at how much I loved this foundation! The Ilia skin tint has been my go to for 2yrs bc I prefer a lighter skin like dewy finish. So happy to finally find a medium coverage formula for special occasions.

Disappointing

Not a fan. Really thought I'd love it based on all the other reviews and what it got for other blog rankings. I have dry skin and work 8 hour shifts, so I really wanted this to work. It flaked after 4. Even when I tried different primers. Very disappointed

Broke me out

I really wanted to love this product but it broke me out and the colors are to orange I liked like an oily mess

It was referred to me by the Sephora employee. Too yellow and dark even after she matched me with the thing that scans your face. After a couple uses, the pigment and the shinning element in it separated. Even with my normal skin prep and a water based primer, it separated on my face after like an hour. It has a strange texture also, like I tried to blend it with my foundaion brush and a beauty blender and meh. Not worth the price and the shades range needs some adjusment.

Surprisingly amazing color match!

I was absolutely blown away by the color match of this product! It completely evens out my skin tone and matches the rest of my body. I like the way that it applies and looks on the skin, very smooth and easy to blend in. It is glowy and very easy to blend on top of. The only thing that made me take one star off is the fact that it did settle into my creases around my mouth a little bit. In order to love this foundation I HIGHLY recommend you use the CT shade finder on the Charlotte Tilbury website. Trust me. You will not be disappointed. Don’t rely on the Sephora “MUA’S” to shade match you. They are almost close to useless.

Still on the Fence

I’m still on the fence with is product. I’ve been using it for about a week now and can’t figure out why it goes on so dry. I mean my face is prepared- moisturized and primed with same brand primer. It does last all day though.

I love Charlotte Tilbury’s lipsticks so when I received an email from Sephora about her foundation I decided to try it. Unfortunately I chose the wrong shade so I returned to the store and asked for help picking out the right skin shade. The associate was so helpful and after trying 2 different ones we found the right match and she also helped me with application. The foundation gives me the right amount of coverage while still giving me a natural glow. I highly recommend this product.

Caution for the acne prone

I wanted to love this foundation. I found it provided good medium coverage and has a nice range of shades to find the perfect match for your complexion. Unfortunately, it caused me horrible cystic acne. As soon as I stopped using this product, my skin cleared right up.

I tried this foundation with elf hydrating primer, and once without any primer. With the primer, within 2-3 hours it moves and looks really greasy. Without primer, again in about 2-3 hours, it breaks apart and starts to crease and look dry. It's unfortunate because when you first apply the foundation it looks great

I have combination skin. If I am having a "dry" face day, after a couple of hours, this foundation looks patchy and shows all of the creases.

I’m a huge Charlotte Tilbury fan. I wanted to try to Hollywood Flawless full coverage foundation, but they didn’t have it. This one was ok. It reminded me of a not-as-good IT Cosmetics Nude Glow foundation—in fact, so much so that I returned it because it was too similar to what I already had.

Liked it but……

Initially I liked this, as the finish was very pretty. It had enough glow without being too shiny, and enough coverage to be light but more than a skin tint. The color was a good match at first….but…..it oxidized and turned darker with an orange(ish) hue. I was so disappointed that I had to return it.

A New Favorite

Loyal user of Estée Lauder double wear for years. Got this in a box. Decided to try it out. I am switching to this. It matches perfectly, smooth and doesn’t look like I have anything on.

use it before expiry date

I’ve been using this for almost a year and it’s gorg, you do have to set it with powder though. the only reason i’m not giving it 5 stars is because you have to use it within the allotted time before expiry, 12 months or less. mine started to separate inside the bottle and was no longer applicable after about 11 months. so if you get it just beware the formula isn’t shelf stable.

I am not big fan of foundation even though I need coverage for my pigmentation. If you want something hydrating and little coverage, this product is good. It doesn’t make your skin dry,good for dry skin

I did not like this. It peeled, felt very heavy, and just looked super bad on me.

I love the color of this product on me. For stars as the formula is pretty thick for a medium coverage foundation. But it does leave my skin feeling very soft and moisturized.

This is my favorite foundation. It provides a smooth silky, even coverage while still allowing my skin to breathe. It matches my skin tone perfectly. Winter is not my most attractive month when it comes to my complexion, and this foundation provides the perfect amount of color and coverage.

Not a fan

I’m really upset about this honestly. I have fairly normal skin with some dry areas. I have used most of this foundation, trying everythingggg to make it work. (I’ve tried it with/without primer, same with powders, setting sprays, & etc..) no matter what I do it just continues to crease and sink into my pores. (I don’t even think my pores are THAT big??)… I really had high hopes for this product & wish I could have liked it, but it wasn’t good for me at allll.

I really like the formula but the shade isn’t how it’s pictured here. I am very pale and got the lightest shade since it looked like the model was very fair too. unfortunately the shade was a lot darker thimagined

Worth the price!

This is the only foundation I’ve worn and someone asked what I was wearing because my skin was glowing. It wears so nicely, isn’t drying and my skin feels so supple. You have to try this.

This is okay, but there are better foundations out there. I can’t say I feel like the price is justifiable. 

One year later, holy-grail everyday foundation!

Bought this foundation Nov 2022 while on Accutane and it saw me through the driest of skin! It’s so thin yet hydrating but does not require a lot of powder to set down for all day wear.

I’m surprised this foundation does not have 5 stars. I likely would have never tried it based on the reviews, but I was in the store trying a couple different ones and this matched the best. I absolutely HATE wearing foundation but this one is so light I forget I’m wearing it. It blends beautifully and doesn’t oxidizes. So happy with this purchase. And would highly recommend giving this a try, especially if you want light coverage.

Finicky and takes work

This foundation is OK but definitely not one of my favorites. I got the color 3C and it’s too light so I have to mix in the drunk elephant bronzer drops to make it the right color for me. It stays very dewy/glowy/wet/greasy looking and does not dry down, so I have to set it with powder. It does not last all day and it does not look the best on me so I’m just using it up but I don’t really like it. I much prefer the haus labs foundation

I have pretty clear normal/dry skin and I was looking for something light coverage. At first application it was very pretty and glowy, but after a few minutes I noticed it accentuated all of my pores and any smile lines I had (i'm 24 but this aged me). Don't recommend

Hydrating and lightweight

Just bought this and it gives me a nice natural finish and is definetly a lightweight hydrating foundation that gives bit of a glowy look. It almost feels like a moisturizer and is definetly medium coverage so if you’re looking to cover up acne scars I would definitely recommend using a concealer as well. I haven’t noticed much creasing.

Fairest shade too dark

The fairest shade was too dark. My perfect match is Nars radiant concealer in Chantilly for reference. It is medium coverage with natural glowy finish.

Tried and returned

The product applies smoothly. However, once s it settles on the face, it sits into your pores. It really Accentuates your pores and starts to appear cakey. I used moisturizer, and a primer prior to applying. It also caused me to break out and returned the product.

Not worth the money

I read a lot about products. The sales associate at saw Saw this make up on YouTube. The sales associate at Sephora had suggested this Charlotte Tilbury liquid make up. I was looking to try something new. I was very disappointed. It is very greasy, and feels oily to me. However, it is smooth and creamy. Not a good match for my normal skin. I will be returning for that price point.

This is for the oily girls. I’m the Mayor of Oily Town and I love this foundation. Did my normal routine with setting powders and spray and she is looking great. I am writing this after a 11hour wear test.

Not For Ghosts

I bought the lightest shade but it was still a good 2 shades darker than my skin. It applied really well and felt comfortable but I just couldn't make it work on my skin.

I don't love this product, but I'll still be finishing the tube. I find that it still skews way too yellow for a neutral and is still a smidge to dark for me while still being the fairest option of this line. My skin does not react to it at all, but I find I can feel it the whole time it's on despite it being a medium coverage.

I really like this product. It's weightless and it doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup.

I got this after a few failed "hydrating" foundation purchases. I have to say it looks so beautiful on. it applies very nicely too. the tube kind of felt airy to me so I dont know how long this will last me. is it expensive? yes absolutely but if you struggled with finding the right hydrating foundation for your sensetive skin, then I'd say it's worth the money.

This product is a game changer. I am in my late 20s, my skin doesnt lean oily or dry, and this goes/stays on perfect. Great with their concealer line.

I wanted to love it

I loved this foundation when I purchased it but I’m having trouble when I set it. It oxidizes and it’s with ever setting powder I’ve tried. I even tried changing up my primer to help. The shade is a perfect match to me but it would only be the perfect match until I have to set it. Then it turns me orange.

This is a good product, just not for my skin type. I typically have combination to oily skin. This gave me an oily look, but some may say dewy. Just a personal preference, although it is a good brand if you are looking for a dewy look!

Oxidation Nation 💔

Its pretty okayyyyyy im trying to find a foundation to replace dior airflash foundation (i used 301 sand) and i think the shade match was pretty good but the only thing is it oxidizes like crazy for me so i look so so oily 💔

I am shocked by the negative reviews here? Best part about hthis product is that it is virtually undetectable on my skin-yet my skin is glowy and smooth. This product is a thicker foundation so I find it does absorb into your makeup brush or beauty blender. However- still giving this 5 stars based on the the way it makes my skin look.

I use a sponge to apply my foundation and this one goes on easily and I can build coverage my dark spots. In addition, I have difficult to match skin tone and this one stays true to the color even after hours of wear.

You will love this on your combination skin

Great foundation! Tried it on a humble one day when I was walking around the store. The closest thing to my Lancome full coverage which I LOVE! Great coverage and feels so good and hydrating on my combination skin! My only concern is how long it will last because it doesn't seem to be as much in the tube.

Glowing Goodnessss

I am not a foundation person at all & generally go with a minimal no makeup look but this product has completely changed me. My skin is flawless and glowing. The first day I wore it to work, I got several compliments. It lasts all day and even after a sweaty gym session - after a 10 hour work day. I have tried many foundations over the years and have always had trouble finding a match, because I have both dry skin and neutral undertones. It sinks into my skin beautifully! Easily the most natural finish I have found.

A little pricy but if you’re looking for less coverage this is a perfect foundation. Really buildable and didn’t make my skin oily.

This seemed great at first because of the finish this foundation had, but sadly it is barely medium coverage and doesn’t stay at all.

This is a beautiful foundation. It has nice coverage and a pretty glow. I would compare it to the NARS Light Reflecting Adanced Skincare Foundation. I like both a lot.

I had really high hopes but felt disappointed . It was way too sheer and didn't give my face any glow

my friend gave me this i used the dior backstage primer w it and it looks really good the only thing is that it’s kind of thick so if u have textured skin it could emphasize that but other than that i love this and will continue

this foundation sat super super heavy on my skin. its just too thick for my liking. has great coverage though and a good looking finish, just not a good feeling finish on the skin

Good product but not for me

Used this foundation for a couple months liked how it felt very light but the coverage is more light than medium / very good for someone who is not looking for coverage but a very skin like look

A SUMMER NEED

You have got to be kidding me… this is the best medium coverage foundation I’ve seen. It feels like a tinted moisturizer and is sooo glowy. When I say she’s the summer foundation. I Mean it. I really recommend mixing her with the flawless filter or glossier glow thing for that flawless glow

Works ok, but too thick for me. I have to mix with moisturizer or other foundations. I won’t buy again.

Smooth and nice but iodizes and darkens. Wear for the day before choosing shade.

I’ve been using this foundation since January and I love it! After wearing this all day I had a healthy glow, not a “oily” or “greasy” mess. If you’re using this, make sure to prep and set your face properly and you’ll be fine! fine!

not impressed

Not impressed! light to medium coverage, did not even out my skin tone enough, had to apply a lot and then it looked oily on my dry skin after a few hours. It's more like a drugstore quality then high end..
