New formula is not like the old.

The new formula is complete to crap. Within an hour or two it looks like I'm not even wearing makeup. I was a die-hard Armani Foundation fan under the old formula, but unfortunately I'm having to switch to another brand. Don't waste your money.

New formula is not good

I’ve been using LS for a few years and loved the old formula. This new formula looks good at first but starts to pill and looks horrible at the end of the day. I even bought the new primer, so it’s not that I’m using incompatible products.

reformulation ruined the product

i am SO angry about the reformulation. This was the only foundation i liked and now I have to find a new one because the new one goes on weird. Literally pointless. Sold the best foundation ever and messed it up for no reason

New formula is so bad

I’ve been using this for years and whatever they did with the new formula has ruined it. It cakes almost immediately and doesn’t melt into the skin. The original looked like a 2nd skin and this sits on top of every imperfection. Switched to hourglass veil and it’s much closer to the original Armani. Armani Beauty if you can hear us please find a way to go back.

Hydrating and skin-perfecting foundation

I love how this foundation makes my skin look. I went through early menopause, and my skin tends to absorb all the hydration from my skincare and makeup products. Because of that, it’s not easy to find a foundation that keeps my skin looking healthy and smooth. Bring back the old formula!! Returning!

Why try to fix something that’s not broken! The new formula is awful! Coverage is bad. It melts off your face within 2hr. It even caused my eye liner to smear. I know this because every product on my face is the exact same for months except this new Armani formulas. Bring back the old. I will be returning this.

Beautiful Finish, Great for Daily Wear

I’ve been using the new formula for a few weeks now. The texture is very thin and easy to blend with a damp sponge. It’s perfect for my [insert your skin type] skin because it doesn't feel heavy or cakey. It lasts about 8-10 hours on me before I need to touch up my T-zone with a little powder. Piles up and broke me out

Sadly this foundation is very difficult to blend. It starts to pile up after the first application. It sadly also broke me out pretty bad. It added some of the cystic acne on my cheek and I’m sure it’s the niacinamide that’s in it. I will be returning..

True neutral olive oil

Beautiful true neutral olive foundation. I use to use the 5.25 and that was always a little pink for me. So glad this one does lean true neutral olive. So glad I tried it. It’s less satin then the other formula over skin care

Breakout every time

Sadly breaks me out every single time I wear it. It looks pretty (do need to touch up the crease lines around your mouth if you get them), but 2 days after I wear it I get a large, painful breakout around my cheek area so I know it’s not hormonal. So disappointing.

Awful

Awful. The changed the formula and it’s so disgusting to wear. If I wanted to look like an oxidized glazed donut I’d use a skin tint. It’s awful that shades are wrong and just don’t even waste your time and money. Now I have to look for a new foundation.

Decent, But Not a Repurchase

This one was just “meh” for me. It covers well, but it tends to look pretty cakey on my skin after a few hours. I tried using less product and different primers but couldn’t really get it to look natural. It’s not terrible, just not something I’d reach for again.

Loved the original! This new formula settles in your fine lines, separates, and drys out my T-zone. Also, added niacinamide which my skin hates!

An Awful and Unnecessary Reboot!

I wish I could give this zero stars. WHY did they change the formulation? I have used this foundation for over a decade and LOVED it! I am so upset that they changed an award winning and beloved product. The new formulation offers barely any coverage and is so watered down that it is difficult to even apply. I hope Armani listens to its very disappointed customers!

Bring back the old formula without niacinamide!

Why change when it’s perfect

I’ve used this foundation for over 10 years and the new formulation is terrible. It’s slightly thicker, the color is off, it now contains nicotinamide and after trying for a few days, my application looked dry and separated. I never had this issue with the original formula. What a disappointment the new formulation is. I’ve returned this to Sephora.

Adding this to my routine

The new formulation is not an equal replacement to the previous. My skin is in constant, painful, oily breakouts after using the new foundation - it’s a nightmare. Also it is not full full coverage. *I've only tried the new formula I have combination skin (oily t-zone, dry cheeks) so I feel that I can speak for both sides. It's simply not a special formula, and I'm quite sure foundations at the drugstore below $15 could outperform this. It looks okay, it blends okay, it lasts okay. This is such an OKAY foundation. Absolutely disappointing. Very oily and cakey, reveals all the skin imperfections. The previous version was perfect. Why would the brand decide to change the formula and loose all the existing customers? It doesn't make any sense. I will have to return it.

Why change a product thousands of women loved?!? I used the old formulation for the last 6 years since I was introduced to how amazing it was! The finish of this foundation was literally so beautiful. I have really dry skin and it didn’t accentuate any texture at all. I wore it for at least 12 hours and there was no transferring onto my glasses or anywhere else. This is worth every single penny of what it cost. 100% will re-purchase in the future!

After shaking the bottle this foundation was still very watery. The shade is way too dark for me to wear in the winter when my skin is its palest. I wouldn’t buy this product due to the ingredients not being anywhere near clean. Very disappointing.

Color match fail in the new formulation 😭

The old formula was THE BEST and the color match was perfect for me and *of course* the company decided to rEfOrMuLaTe because if it’s not broke, why not break it? I used to be shade 4.75 but now the closest I can get is 5.1 … but it’s slightly too dark and kind of yellow even though it’s supposed to be cool pink. I LOVED this foundation, especially with someone with sensitive skin. Unfortunately, the new formula contains niacinamide which is an irritant for me. I tried the new formula and just like I feared, it caused a breakout. I miss the old formula! I’ll need to find a new go-to foundation.

Shocked and disappointed

I’m disappointed and shocked at the same time. I wore the original formula of Luminous Silk and absolutely loved it. I purchase this bottle and tried it twice, and both times I had to fully remove it and wash my face (something I have never had with any other foundation.) The product pilled immediately when blending. It would truly fleck off my face. I’m not sure if I received a defective bottle, but it was truly unwearable. $70 for a bottle I'm unable to use at all.

This is a fantastic "everyday" foundation. It feels breathable and looks high-end. The only reason it isn’t a full 5 stars is the price point relative to the bottle size, and the fact that it requires a well-exfoliated base to look its absolute best.

A new addition to my routine

I find that these foundation are easier to work with and easier to layer on powder with and doesnt give you a strong makeup scent. The worst reformulation in history

I am absolutely gutted at this reformulation. It is not similar to the original at all. The coverage is more sheer and the colors are completely off. The reformulation almost feels drying and now has a heavy scent.

I miss the old formula

After two years of using Armani foundation, I’m really disappointed with the new formula. The coverage has noticeably decreased, and it looks cakey and textured when set with powder. It’s not the same quality I originally fell in love with. I had also experienced a burning sensation when applying this product.

Nice for a natural finish

Still my go-to foundation

Still one of my favorite foundations, even after the reformulation. Goes on beautifully and blends easily with or without primer, although I always wear with a primer. Minimal color transfer, if any at all. My only complaint is this formula seems to dry my skin out more than the previous formula, so I’ve had to increase my moisturizer. That is likely seasonal though.

I was sent the wrong shade but I wore this at home and thought it was pretty good. Buildable and lightweight. My other make up laid nicely on top of it. New formula is oily

The old formula was so great for my mid 30s skins. This new one settle into my skin more, feels a bit more heavier and I feel like the glow is more of an oily glow whereas before it was more natural. Very disappointing cause I already felt I was over paying for foundation before, but it was so perfect for my skin tone and giving me that youthful glow while still concealing. I don’t feel I get any of that anymore.

New Formula Causes Breakouts!

I never had any problems with the original formulation, but this new one caused a breakout. I have pretty clear skin and within a few hours of using this for the first time, I had three small whiteheads pop up out of nowhere. Very disappointing because I like the formula before and the new shade 6 actually matches me perfectly with my neutral olive tone, whereas I had to mix the old shade 6 with another color to make it more neutral. I have sensitive combination skin.

Reformulation isn't great

Tried this after the reformulation... Um. nah, I'll pass. apparently it was an amazing foundation, but this new one is mediocre at best. not long wearing, transfers. looks too flowy after about 4 hours.

Very disappointed in the reformulation. It smells slightly like nail polish and is clearly a cheaper product. I haven’t used any other foundation for the past six years because I loved this one but now I will be looking for a replacement.

In the past I've used Clinique, Estee, and Chanel foundations but this one is hands down the best. Coverage is on the lighter side but since it blends beautifully it's easy to layer as needed. This is probably going to be one of my favorite foundations ever. I love that the coverage is medium making the skin look like skin but gives an overall even coverage. BEWARE: New Formula Might Give You Breakouts!!

I’d been using this foundation for YEARS before the new formulation without any issues. Dissatisfied in new formulation.

This was my favorite foundation. It's hard to find olive skin tone foundation. I had 7.8 and the new formulation for some reason feels so drying on my skin despite it stating it has luminous benefit. I tried with all prep on skin but it still gave me a drying look. It's not the same anymore unfortunately ☹️ and the color looks ashier now despite 7.8 not changing.

I have dry skin from retinol and was worried they changed the formula since I loved the old one, but it’s still my favorite. I used to wear shade 3.5 (left is old one) but it pulls a bit pink on me with new formula, so I switched to 5.3 (right) and it’s a perfect match. But it did make my skin dry as I wore it more, it also made me break out I want to say it is the alcohol denat in it. New favorite Foundation

It played well with other products and didn't move I wore it for more than 6 hours without touch ups. It has no scent its lightweight and medium to full coverage.

Not happy with the change

Not happy with the changes made to this foundation. It was my favorite, after searching forever for a replacement to Dior airflash. Whatever changes they made to this foundation is terrible. Does not stay on all day. Does not feel lightweight like it previously did. Halfway through the day my face from nose down is gone due to wing or whatever, kids touching my face. Never an issue with previous formula. I don’t understand why change something that’s already great. Don’t waste 70$.

Excellent coverage and natural finish

For the (old) 4.75 girlies

Not reviewing the formula but thought this could help anyone who used to wear the old 4.75. Here is a comparison of the 4.75 next to 3.75, 5 and 5.1 (I let them dry for 10 min). Honestly, none of them are close and 5.1 is not light, cool pink. I think maybe if I mix 3.75 and 5 together I might get a doable shade combo but the fact they didn’t create a comparable shade is annoying.

That being said I do like this foundation. I don’t like that they couldn’t send me a lighter shade that matches my skin tone to this review with. Nothing like the old formula

I have been using Armani foundations for many years. Maestro and Face Fabric were my favorite. When they discontinued those I started using Luminous Silk and I was very happy with it.
