A must have product

I’ve been using this product for a few weeks now and I’m honestly impressed. The texture is smooth, blends beautifully, and feels lightweight on the skin. It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey, and it gives a natural finish.

Meh

I really wanted to love this foundation.. but it just wouldn’t sit right on my skin. Looked dry and flakey. I’ll stick with my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer from now on!

Tried and True

Love this foundation. Have bought several bottles over and over again through out the past couple of years. Great coverage and gives skin a nice, dewey glow. Goes on smooth and is buildable.

Solid product.

This foundation provides good coverage and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. I also think it’s good for acne prone skin (I am acne prone and it hasn’t given me any issues). It has a nice dewy finish if you don’t use any setting powder. Although it does pull a teensy bit orange because it’s a little more on the warmer side but Itisnt extremely noticeable. Overall it’s a pretty solid foundation but I do prefer the Armani beauty foundation.

Absolutely in love with this foundation. I was looking for something not heavy and this is. I just did not give 5 stars because I only wore it once yet.

I have oily/acne prone skin and this broke me out really badly. All along my forehead and chin. I am a double/triple cleanse person and still I found this to be very poor clogging. Super disappointed.

NARS fail!

I usually love NARS products but this was very disappointing. It was patchy and clung to every imperfections on my skin. It just sat in top of my skincare and did not blend at all. Cake-y finish. Definitely not for dry or mature skin.

Nice formula.. not my shade

After using this products at home under natural light I have realized this is not my shade.. i have red auburn hair blue eyes.. it’s way too pink. In the store it looked liked it matched well. The longevity and consistency is good.

i have combo skin and this was still too dry. very cakey and made me discover all my fine lines that i didn’t know about.. it also separated on my nose and chin. returned and replaced with a $10 foundation!

Must try

When it comes to foundation, I go to something that is light and it’s not too heavy and this is exactly what NARS provided is. This foundation is easy to blend, buildable, it is not giving me a cakey look but smooth and flattering.

Great staple foundation

I’ve been using this foundation for over a month now and I love it! It’s very moisturizing on my dry skin. I would say the coverage is medium. This has become my new favorite foundation. I like to mix it with my milky toner for a little extra hydration. This makes it even more glowy on my skin and I love the result!

New NARS

I got the Nas deep two, New Caledonia. It was too dark, but I think it would work well as a summer shade, but it didn’t work as well for my winter shade. I did appreciate how smooth it laid on my face.

Horrible, Formula Must Be Different

After years of using this foundation the formula must have changed. My eye is having a bad reaction to the newest one I purchased in store a few days ago. My eye is getting itchy and inflamed. Perfect shade match. Exactly the same undertones as my neck & collarbone. It gives the most radiant finish on the skin & I just lightly powder with the pressed powder from Nars in Cove to set to keep the radiance in mu skin.

My New Favorite Foundation!

Can't say enough good things about this foundation! While it purports to be medium coverage, I would argue it looks like full coverage. I apply this foundation using the number 1 brush from the Sephora Total Brush set and it's a match made in heaven. A nickel-sized amount will cover your entire face. Highly recommend.

If you have texture skin I wouldn't recommend this. This foundation has zero silicones that's why it's also pretty pricey. It's very beautiful I have some texture and yes it does show some of my texture but the foundation is sinply beautiful. It's a serum like texture and has very good coverage I love everything about it except the pump it's not very good for the price.

Inconsisten formula

There is inconsistency between the sample I got and the bottle I purchased. The sample left a lovely radiant skin finish and a great match but the bottle... Jesus not even 2 minutes on my skin and it separated like I had poured oil on it :( I own other foundations like Haus Labs, Clinique, Armani and several drugstore brands and I had never had issues like these... the sample I got did not separate at all so I´m guessing bad batch but I won't be repurchasing to see if I get the good one next time.

Terrible packaging for an expensive product

I have only used this foundation for about a week. I like the luminous look of my skin. However I took it on my vacation and the bottle leaked since it does not close securely. I recommend the foundation but I will not buy it again until they change the bottle. I never had this issue with my It CC cream which comes in a tube closed securely.

Allergy/acne reaction

I really wanted to be able to continue using this product because the coverage and finish is amazing and beautiful but I got a horrible allergic reaction to it as well as clogged pores and had to return it

I LOVE this foundation. I’ve tried so many different brands and liked them, but I wanted something more moisturizing that still looked natural while giving good coverage. This one truly delivers on everything. It looks natural, gives just the right amount of glow, and still has the coverage you expect from a foundation. I also find it really moisturizing — it didn’t dry out my skin at all, even in cold weather.

I received a sample size of this foundation. It has a subtle odd smell I find off-putting, which is the reason I can't give 5 stars. It looks great on my face, though.

Its ok

This product provides medium to light coverage and has a skin-like texture. I wear my makeup for approximately 9 to 12 hours daily, and it remains in place throughout the day. However, it does become greasy by the end of the day and starts to come off just from touching my face, which is likely normal if you’ve been wearing it for 10 hours. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t recommend using it under the eyes because I’ve noticed it settling into my creases. But overall a good daily use foundation

Pump malfunction

I really loved this product when I first bought it back in September. Unfortunately, within just a month the pump stopped working, and I wasn’t able to use it properly after that. Because of my busy work schedule, I didn’t have time to go back to the store right away, and when I finally did, I was told they couldn’t exchange it anymore. I’m disappointed because the product itself is great, but the pump malfunction made it unusable, and I wasn’t able to get a replacement.

This foundation felt mediocre in the sense that it’s so natural looking; it does nothing when it comes to blurring. Felt medium buildable. Looked slightly greasy on me and slightly too yellow.

This is the patchiest foundation I've ever countered, will be returning. Not sure how it won Allure's 2022 award... Very disappointed because I'm a fan of their Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer.

The best formula for me

This is my holy grail. This foundation has a nice satin finish, doesn't accentuate dryness and doesn't sink into pores (I have both). Lasts about 8 hours, maybe even more without a setting spray, just powders some areas. I usually apply with a damp sponge, it creates an incredibly thin layer like a tint but at the same time covers well (I have skin with redness).

I wanted to love this foundation. For the price, I expected so much more. To start, the employee failed to correctly color match my skin. Good all around medium coverage foundation

This has been my first experience with a higher end foundation. I use a light layer after my primer and before my concealer. It produces a nice layer of even coverage and blends in to my skin. But after some time I notice the texture of my skin looks a bit more noticeable and rough. I think the product does this after drying. But it's only when viewed up close, so I dock one star for this. If I purchase again I'll get a lighter, less peachy shade, as it looks a tiny bit orange on me.

Great product, bad pump

LOVE the actual foundation. A perfect match for my skin, absorbs evenly, no reaction to my skin. On this, again: LOVE! BUT, as I see others mentioning, the pump is too stiff. I don't always like a full face-worth of pump, but rather just a touch to conceal trouble spots. I cannot control the amount that comes out. At this price, if I don't want full coverage, I want to save product for the next day. So, keep the product the same but fix your pump, NARS.

After years of searching, I've finally found the perfect foundation for me. I'm 44, and tinted moisturizer wasn't cutting it anymore, but I absolutely hate the feel of heavy foundation on my skin. This foundation looks okay on, but the smell when putting it on is so rank that I thought it had gone bad. Coverage is light-medium, finish is skin-like, not super dewy or overly matte. Weird undertones

I ordered 3 of three of the sample sizes to try to find my skin match. La Serena was probably the closest but looked very unnatural, New Caledonia and Namibia were all way off. The consistency is very watery and messy. The shades have odd undertones and are not flattering. its 2025 it shouldnt be this hard to get a good match

Would never repurchase, very runny/water like

Very watery consistency, I shakes the bottle for a while hoping it would help. However, I shouldn’t have to shake a bottle for a while before applying it. I use this foundation every single day - it’s one of the only super pale foundations I have found that isn’t super white or have a yellow undertone! It has the slightest pink undertone which is amazing if you are a pale person with a rosy look! Love love love:)))

The dispenser is AWFUL - it is so challenging to keep from the makeup violently splattering out each pump all over the place and you easily waste more product with this type of pump. Pretty please change it

this is the best foundation on the market, it was my wedding day foundation, i will be buried with it. it oxidizes a bit due to the light reflecting element but the formula is lightweight, comfortable, and wears beautifully throughout the day.

I received this in the complexion trial bag from Sephora. I had had a good experience with Nars a long time ago, so I was excited to try this. On taking it on my fingers, the foundation felt good, and I was hoping I would love it. But, on applying it to my face, it highlighted dry patches that I didn't even know existed. Disappointing - too orange.

I don't understand why a brand would use the same name for two different foundations if the color/undertones are not exactly the same. I am a super light NEUTRAL. it was a pass

I've used the product a few times and everytime no matter my skin prep is very dry. It emphasized my texture to the gods and after a couple of hours or rather a couple of minutes made me look the shade of an extra dirty martini (a weird yellowish green). Now I could probably make this work for me with some coloring pigments but I shouldn't have to make a $54 foundation work for me, it already should. Very disappointing for my first foundation.

Yulong…isn’t Yukon

I really like this foundation for the winter, as I am more oily/combo. I’ve always used Yukon and now that shade is discontinued. Yulong is not right either. It’s too light. The next shade looks too peach on mr.

I bought this because I watched a video that the makeup artist who created this foundation loved to apply with fingers and that was exactly what I was looking for somthing I cloud put on fast before work that looked skin like and it did not disappoint! Excellent foundation for dry skin

All time favorite foundation easily. Makes my skin glowy and healthy and it has never caused me acne. It actually improves my skin. The only thing I wish was better was the shade range.

My all time favourite foundation

I’ve tried multiple foundations and THIS is the one. It offers good and even coverage and it lasts so well. Even if I’m sweating with my glasses, it doesn’t separate. Actually worth the price.

This foundation sucks. I use a water based primer but it still looks soooooo splotchy and just doesn’t blend. And it transfers super easy even with setting spray. I have oily skin but it manages to also somehow cling to the few dry patches I have.

My favourite foundation for years, with acne prone texture skin with acne scarring, this blurs beautifully. It’s great on any type of skin. Perfect for daily wear

I wish I had purchased this OG years ago! It’s fantastic, and I will be repurchasing. It’s light weight but solidly medium coverage. I apply with my fingers and finish with a brush or sponge.

Great addition to my foundations

After using this product for a while. I love the medium coverage that it gives. It evens out the skin tone color to one, blends nicely with my neck color. I use for days that I don't feel like putting on heavy makeup and just want something easy, light and simple.

Good but has an issue

This foundation has an easy blend and great finish BUT 2 hours after wearing makeup it starts to break apart no matter how I prepare my skin and the prime I use.

Horrible Design

Like this foundation a lot but the bottle is horrible! Leaks everywhere and do not fly with it…bottle exploded all inside my makeup bag and had to throw away the bottle that was brand new

Possible formula change

I used this foundation a couple of years ago and just bought it again earlier this week. The formula has definitely changed. It’s super runny now, separates even while it’s still in the bottle, and gives almost no coverage. The old version had a nice gel-like texture and gave medium coverage with a healthy glow. Now it just feels like tinted water. Also, keep in mind that stores might still have the old formula as the tester, so what you try in-store might not be what you actually take home.

A Great Option!

This has been a great foundation! I don't like super heavy foundation so this was medium to lightweight but still provided good coverage. The only reason it didn't get a 5 is it can get creasy after a long day of wear. But I've been complimented on how flawless my skin looks using this and a loose powder.

I’ve been using this product in my makeup routine for years, I can’t seem to even explore new foundations after this. It’s magnificent. Covers my red spots instantly, hide blemishes, and is hydrating and buildable. My only issue is with the packaging which can sometimes get messy.

The product is very good, love its texture and how it blends. However i am not able to use this much because the sephora sales person sold me a darker shade…no doubt its great product but all my money was wasted as am goiam going going 1 tone darker which doesn’t look good, beware o when selecting ur shade.

Terrible packaging ruining a good product

The foundation itself is great but the NARS packaging is just the worst. The pump has never worked and basically makes the product unusable and extremely messy. I tried to return or get a replacement pump but was told I was out of the return window. I like the product but won’t be purchasing again until they update the packaging.

Skin like foundation - not acne safe

I love this foundation. It looks flawless on the skin. BUT, my skin breaks out after every time I wear it. I have sensitive acne prone skin. Would not recommend if you struggle with acne.

It took me so long to jump on the nars foundation train, but now that I’m here, I love it! This foundation is so great, it has great medium to full coverage, and it sits on my skin SO nicely. It doesn’t cling to my dry patches. This is 100% one of the best foundations I have used in a while.

Not acne-safe!

This product is not acne safe! It applied beautifully but is not non comedogenic. After using this product, I broke out and had very bad cystic and fungal acne. Will never be using this again.

Used to be perfect until they recently changed the formula! This product is extremely yellow, oxidizes, is oily, patchy, and comes off when trying to put other makeup like blush on top of it. I am very disappointed in this formula change and will be looking for a new foundation.

Omggg. This is what I’ve been looking for, for years! It’s perfect. Literally, my skin looks airbrushed when I have this on and I get tons of compliments. Disappointed

I wanted to love this so bad, especially with how the lady in the store hyped it up (and with how expensive it is) but honestly it just doesn’t work for me. It transfers like crazyyyyyy like no matter how gently I touch my face it will rub off. Thats with using the milk hydro grip primer and the hydra beauty setting powder. It doesn’t look great on my skin either.

Not worth the money honestly sticks to dry patches no matter how good you prep especially with dry skin looks horrible will never purchase again.

This foundation is my all time favorite but I had to mix Mont Blanc and Oslo to get my shade. This is the missing shade needed between the 2. Not peach, true neutral with a hint of cool.

Love the radiant look on the skin

This is actually my first foundation from Nars so i didnt know what to expect. First of all the coverage is definitely a Medium. I love how radiant it look on the skin. Got the shade M1 Punjab for the summer. I would mix it with a lighter color in the winter to still give my skin that healthier looking glow. Overall no breakout no complain.

Awful match by in-store personnel

In-store matched this on my overtone, though the undertone matched, it was too light on my skin. I think they interchanged the product they had in hand and gave me the wrong match, the product is also very runny and doesn't settle like a smoothing foundation.

Perfect foundation

Amazing foundation. I fake tan so I feel like I bought to light of a colour when I am tanned, but to dark of a colour when I am pale. It has medium coverage for me and evens my dullness. Need to pair with a thicker concealer for my dark spots tho. Overall a perfect everyday foundation

I’ve used it for a couple of months now, and this foundation has been great for my sensitive skin. It doesn’t break me out. The color match is good. It does seem a little drying, and the pump is messy.

Formula Change

I had been wearing NARS for years but I had to purchase 2 shades in order to get my complexion match. When the new color Alexandria dropped and it was my perfect match I was sooo excited only to find out they also changed the formula. This dried my skin out like it had alcohol or too much Mica in it. Why, why, WHY did they have to change the formula!!! It went from hydrating and glowy to dry and ashy!

Finally New Shade Match Alexandria

Finally I have a shade match with the right undertone. I normally get match to New Caledonia but it was a little too dark. I have tried Marquises but it was too red and Macao was too light.

I loved this when it first came out except none of the shades were quite right for me. I used mont blanc but it was a little too light/pink for me. When I was in sephora a few weeks ago I was thrilled when I saw they released new shades! I picked up lima which is described as a neutral undertone, but I'd say it leans a touch warm. Perfection

I love this foundation so much. It’s my favorite from Sephora. I was stuck wearing Mont Blanc since it was the closest shade match for me and I was able to make it work for years, even if it wasn’t perfect. Now, with the new shades introduced, I am so happy! Yulong is perfection!

Trashed it

It is not worth the hype. Doesn’t blend in well and doesn’t play well with others. I have had it for over 8 months and have tried it with different primers, different skincare, different blushes etc and it always looks cakey and crumbly. I threw it out.

I use a minimal amount after moisturizer just to even out my skin and it does an excellent job. medium coverage is ideal for me since I prefer the natural look, it's not matte nor very dewy. I did go to bed with it on a couple of times and it did not ruin my skin like my past foundations have. All in all very happy with this product and I would definitely repurchase it.

Terrible smell

I can not use this foundation. I have tried 3 times and the smell is just terrible. It smells like paint thinner. I want to love this so bad. Please fix the smell.

Not what I was expecting

After researching multiple foundations this is the one I chose and I was deeply disappointed. It feels extremely heavy on my face and I have to use a ton of setting powder no matter how much foundation (or lack of) I put on. Also after first use the top no longer stays on the bottle.

Looks like healthy skin

Beautiful, natural and radiant. I love it. I use Vienna or Saltzburg. It’s light weight, sheer in a good way but totally buildable. It’s either this NARS or Haus Labs - both have the same kind of feeling to me. Highly recommend.

Love this foundation, feels lightweight/natural and covers up any dark spots/blemishes. However, the pump is atrocious! The amount of times I've had to clean foundation off the wall because the pump sprayed across the room in multiple directions is insane, someone PLEASE fix it

Somewhat Regretted Gift

I bought this product as a gift for my mom and I will say while it is medium coverage as says, it is orange tinted even though it says deep toned.

Not like the others.

Lots of foundation make my skin feel heavy and dont apply as effortlessly as this one. I love it very much and it covers my blemishes well.

Smelly mess!

I purchased this foundation back in 2015 and loved it. I repurchased the foundation again after using bb cream for years, and the formula changed. It smells horrible! It is drying and does not compare to the old formula. I am disappointed to the point of returning it. The smell is enough to put anyone off using it.

Must have in my makeup routine!

Holy Grail Foundation

I have used this product for a year now and I still love it. It lasts a long time, provides great coverage and works on mature skin. I won’t use anything else or try anything else, this is amazing!!!

Worth your money!

I can barely feel this on my skin. The coverage is medium as advertised and it is perfect for textured skin.

Best of the Nars foundations

I think this is the best of all the Nars foundations. I really like that it has skincare ingredients in it, and it wells waaay lighter than the others but still has excellent coverage.

Good for sensitive skin

Light but still covers all the blemishes and redness, don’t recommend to apply a lot, you need just a small amount. Good for sensitive skin

Like the vast majority of foundation releases within the last couple of years, this will look great on you if you're in your 20's with perfect skin. If you're in your 30's or above, forget it -- this looks awful. I've tried this SO many times with different skin prep options. Every time, it sits on top of my skin, looking greasy and unnatural. This foundation definitely feels light on the skin but it clung to my dry patches and separates. I prep well and hydrate my skin before. Wish it worked. There are better foundations out there.

Not overrated at all

So lightweight but still the perfect amount of coverage. I wear it all day and it never separates, can’t even tell I’m wearing foundation just looks like I have perfect skin.

this was my first high end makeup buy and WOW honestly as a girl who works in hot kitchen and is an oily face this stayed all day in both hot work and cold days i would say if your on the fence it is worth it to buy it

It is a great foundation for someone who don’t want to have their face feel cakey with what they put on I say it’s more light to medium coverage Depending on they way you apply it! But definitely recommend!! I have dry skin and it didn’t cling to any dry patches and looked amazing

Shade match and range is amazing however this applied patchy and i prep before applying makeup not an influencer but i know how to do makeup a product should not need 300 plus products to be good stop listening to these influencers i was not paid to promo not incentivized if you believe any review let it be mine

my go to

love love love this foundation! i use it when i go out with friends (and sometimes sleep in it) & it stays on all night long! i have acne prone skin & it does a good job of covering my scars, hyperpigmentation & acne in general! it hbnvbonly complaint is that somehow it spills and gets the rest of my make up dirty :( also wish they would make a travel size !

Nope

Nope. It immediately sunk into my pores and stuck to my dry patches. For reference I’m 63 dry ish skin. Just didn’t work for me.

I absolutely love the NARS foundation! It works perfectly for my skin, providing flawless coverage that lasts all day. The texture is smooth and lightweight, making it easy to apply and blend. New Fav

Never understood what people meant when talking about skin-like foundation until I used this one. This looks flawless on my dry acne prone skin, it doesn't create weird blotchy patches or worsens dry areas. In fact this water based foundation hydrates and smooths imperfections. In my opinion its worth the money.

This is the nicest medium coverage foundation I've used. I think the cool tone is very accurate, and it was a perfect match as soon as I applied it. I used a damp sponge to blend and it seamlessly blended with a very natural skin finish. I am not a big review writer, but this foundation was so good I had to review it immediately!

Not my favorite formula. Don’t like the smell.

This foundation runs a little thin on my skin which tends to get greasy. The result usually looks liquidy blotchy. For that I have to use a sponge to soak it a bit when applied. Smells like petroleum not very pleasant.

Surprisingly good coverage for being so lightweight. I forget I’m wearing it bc it’s so thin. I don’t know how to censor this, but when I wear this foundation my boyfriend says I look like I have an “after ___ glow” (fill in the blank). Skin context: I have VERY dry skin with constantly congested pores. I’m still figuring out my exfoliating routine. All concealer/foundations become patchy and flakey on my skin. Love the consistency and color match but it gave me fungal acne.

Beautiful foundation

Favorite foundation I’ve ever used. It’s buildable, reflects light, is a warming tone but also perfect match for my skin. Doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. Doesn’t settle into creases. Love!

Repurchase for sure

After trying to decide on what foundation would be best for my skin that will last all day, I landed on trying NARS light reflecting. I have dryer skin and found most products will highlight my dry patches. Usually I stick to a skin tint due to my dryness but I’m happy to have found a foundation that works for me. It last all day given I wear primer and setting spray. My only knock to the product is the smell. It does smell like chemicals when applying but goes away once blended.

My NEW go-to!!!! RUN!

I needed a switch in foundation as the one I used to use was cakey, leaving it noticeable that I was wearing make up even with dry skin. I finally caved and bought NARS after being recommended to try this brand. If you are hesitant.. don't hesitate... RUN! I love this so much, it looks cakey at first but it soaks into my skin flawlessly, and blends effortlessly. A little goes a long way and I no longer feel bad splurging on this product knowing it will last me a long time! So so pleased!

Holy grail!!!

This is the most incredible product and I’ve used it for years. Please never change it NARS! It goes on and looks slightly cakey AT FIRST but as you wear it it is the most beautiful skin like foundation I’ve ever found. If you are oily you may need to touch up through the day but it’s worth it for the finish and the good ingredients of this product! I have extremely sensitive skin and this has never bothered me!

Holy Grail?!

Yukon is perfect shade for me (redhead with freckles). Formula covers and blends into skin without caking or getting patchy. It is not making me oily (shock!) Lasting coverage for the day.

I’m not much of a foundation girl but this stuff is good, medium/high coverage in my opinion but I usually wear tinted moisturizers. Hydrating, not cakey

Good but needs better packaging

I love this foundation but they need to make a travel size one for those of us who travel often . I can’t count the amount of times this has exploded in my makeup bag

Great foundation. Horrible bottle

I love the buildable coverage and that it doesn’t make my skin dry. The color of this foundation matches my skin really well. The bottles are awful. The lid broke after one use and I received a replacement, and then halfway through my new bottle the lid broke AGAIN. Fix your bottle NARS
