Truly beautiful my lips but better color. I use it almost everyday either over Bespoke or Beverly Hills lip colors, or even by itself on no makeup days. It’s hydrating and not sticky, not super long lasting but doesn’t wear off right away either.

i really wanted to love this but don’t :/ The applicator is so small and barely carries any product, I have to put it back in at least 3 times to apply enough product to my lips each time

Rancid product. Will never rebuy.

I don't understand why they changed their formula but it's AWFUL. After two months of use I had to throw two lip oils out after they smelled RANCID. I will never buy this again.

Total must have

In love with this lip oil - it’s not sticky, but glossy and hydrating on the lips and the colour I chose is so flattering. It’s hard nowadays to find a cool toned pink for the lip but this is so pretty. It’s a holy grail in my purse because of how easy it is to apply too.

Perfect gloss! Gives the perfect subtle shine. Great color, a mauvy peach. Such sheer packaging as well!

If I could give this zero stars I would. worst lip treatment ever. slides off your face and makes a mess of your lips. I have tried it over liner and lipstick and it's all just one bigg slick mess.

Don't buy

It’s a nice, hydrating product, but it’s not worth the price it’s being sold for. The applicator is the worst I’ve ever used in a lip gloss. It barely picks up any product, and once applied, it fades very quickly. Reapplying throughout the day wouldn’t be an issue, but the applicator makes it frustrating to use.

Great everyday lippie

I have another Merit lip product, Twin Set, I think is the shade. I like both of them but I definitely say I like the gelee texture more. I wouldn't say it's something to use if your lips are real dry, expecting it to be super hydrating, but it's a very comfortable everyday lip oil gel.

Looks strange. Hate the texture

Only wore it for about 30 minutes before the color was gone in the center of my lips, leaving a weird outline that looks like I’d applied uneven lip liner. I wouldn’t even recommend it if it came in a clear gloss because for some reason the texture makes my lips look smaller? I have full lips and I swear they look smaller with this lip oil on. Basic chapstick and petroleum jelly look and feel much more luxe than this. I’m sorry but I hate this and wouldn’t wear it even if it was free.

Best lip product on the market

My favorite lip product I’ve ever used. The colors are subtle but bring me lots of joy. Most lip oils, glosses, and balms tend to feel uncomfortable on my lips and bunch in the corners of my mouth— this product is the opposite, and can even substitute as a lip balm when my lips are dry without irritation. I now have three colors (pointelle, maraschino, mapleton) and the quality is consistent between them all. Please never discontinue these Merit (especially the sheer shades)!

Super pretty colour, and feels so great on the lips - only rating it a 3 though because it has on staying power - literally color is gone and shine within minutes. Besides that I like this product.

Nice color but very drying

Marrakech is a warm peach color but the oil itself is very drying on the lips. The texture is slippery and not sticky but after taking one sip or water or just talking for 15 minutes the oil and its color both vanish off my lips. After repeated application, my lips start to become very flaky so I suspect that there are irritants in the product that my lips are trying to expel. The clean label means nothing if the product is still irritating and not high performing.

gorgeous shade

Such a perfect shade. looks good on my skin tone and a pale skin tone! The gloss is beautiful and not tacky at all.

Love but needs to be longer lasting!

I love the color and the hydration but I wish it would tint my lips and stay on longer! It’s extremely easy to rub off while eating or drinking and doesn’t leave a nice tint.

Love the color but mine came without the wiper so it gets very messy if it’s not in an upright position. Didn’t get the chance to change it since I live abroad

Must-have for an everyday look

Earlier, I purchased this in a darker red, and loved it enough to make this second purchase. This colour is ideal for everyday wear (ie work) with a good lip contour lip stain underneath. Long lasting. Great shine.

Great quality, not sheer at all.

Very nice quality, but not the color I was expecting. Pink beet is much more pigmented than just a tint. If you are fair skinned, this is a pretty bold lip look. I was expecting a more sheer color.

This lasts me forever and is perfect for layering or for using alone. Not sticky.

its ok

I feel like this product is just ok. I loved the packaging, it's what prompted me to buy it in the first place. The gloss is fine, not magical but not bad. I however hate the doe foot applicator, its so tiny. I need to dip it several times to cover my lips in product.

Love the color and the feel of this lip oil. The color is subtle and not too over or underwhelming. I’ve been looking at this for awhile and I’m happy I ordered it!

Great neutral shade. Wears well, non sticky, and good staying power. For me, it’s almost an exact match to my own lip colour. Would prefer a bit deeper mauve shade, but that said, the product is great and I wear it frequently.

Quite good, 1-star reviews are wrong

Not the most hydrating, but still hydrating. I like to wear a lip balm first, and go over with a lip oil, as I find it lasts longer. To give this one star is a bit silly. It’s a pretty good lip oil, just not as hydrating as, say, Clarins.

Not hydrating by itself like other lip oils. Nice colour, but you need to layer it with an underlying lip balm.

Terrible smell after two weeks

I've purchased this product a few times but the last couple it developed a terrible smell after two weeks (like rotting/bacteria) The finish is nice but the smell is awful, and I was afraid it had gone off. Would not repurchase until that issue is solved.

pointless, overpriced

honestly pointless product. like it is moisturizing but so are many cheaper options. not really sure the hype on this for 24$. does nothing. tint is not visible at all.

Everyday lip oil

I love this lip oil, how it feels, how it hydrates and the color! I saw Lauren graham using it on merits instagram, she uses this shade and it’s my perfect lip shade. I’ve been using this everyday & I will get more shades now definitely get more shades

Caused dryness, cracking and discolouration

This lipgloss has caused significant scaring and cracking on my lips. I’ve used it for the past month and at first I didn’t realise it was happening until the dryness, cracking and discolouration got worse. I got this product because Sephora discontinued their lipgloss that I absolutely love. I went to the store and a makeup expert recommended this to me. Disappointed that has discoloured my lips, especially as a black woman. Wish I could return but due to Sephora changing their return...

Terrible smell!!!

I loved this color and used it often. After several months a stench developed like no other lip gloss I have ever used. I purchased a replacement and within 5 weeks the same smell developed. No other lip gloss I use has had this problem. Merit would not replace the product. I asked them for any kind of help or recommendation to no avail. I would highly advise against this product unless you are comfortable with a terrible smell and possible bacteria laden gloss - save time, money and sanity...

I didn't love it. It was too tacky. The tingle wasn't worth the minimal plump.

Beautiful color

I love this shade in the color sangria, such a beautiful color. I do have to consistently reapply but the color is so gorgeous that I still think it’s worth it. It also isn’t drying, which I find even some lip oils to be.

Amazing lipgloss

I really love this lip gloss. I got it in mauve and it’s so pretty! The texture is very smooth and feels very refreshing. However, it does require frequent reapplication.

this is a really great product. i would definitely recommend this product because its not sticky, is very light weight, and has color that is very pretty. my only complaint is that the applicator is a little small.

Perfect lip oil

Absolute fave. This shade (mapleton) looks super dark but comes out the most perfect pink shade, suits brown skin really well. The formula isn't sticky or uncomfortable, it really is a proper lip oil.

Very hydrating, gorgeous colors, must have for me

I love the amazing hydration combined with the gorgeous colors. I also love the pink shade- Le Deux I alternate between the two. I will get the Jete shade this week and the Mapleton one this fall. They are worth every penny I paid for them.

Like a Dream

Beautiful texture and lasts long compared to other popular lip oils like Dior.

Gorgeous colour, very hydrating

An absolute must have for me. Les Deux and the Maraschino one are beautiful colours and very hydrating without being sticky or tacky. The pigment truly lasts on my lips and my hair doesn’t stick to my lips when it’s windy. Worth every penny. I will definitely get the Mapleton shade in the fall.

Super average lip oil, the color is very sheer and doesn't last long. The applicator is boring and the formula isn't very moisturizing.

Healed my chronically dry lips

Amazing... I have chronically dry lips and this actually healed them. Instantly better in like 2 days and I've tried all the lip masks and everything. Not sticky and really subtle color which I love bc I don't typically wear lip products

No color. No lasting power. It’s like using olive oil on your lips. Except it evaporates into thin air. I returned it.

Best Lip Oil

My favorite lip product. It’s so hydrating and comfortable with a good amount of color to it. It feels great on and isn’t sticky, it’s my new go to.

I’m not a lip product girl, but not because I don’t like having color on my lips but because everything would always leave my lips so chapped after wearing but this is IT. I love this so much, I apply- re apply everything because it’s that good. You dont have to worry about moisture and the color fantastic for everyday (i got pink beet). Run don’t walk.

Pink beet color is beautiful, and it isn’t sticky. My issue is it never lasts. I would apply it and 5 minutes later it was gone. Because of longevity I have to give it 2 stars otherwise it would have been a 5 star.

True lip oil

This is a true oil— its very slick and feels light on the lips. For the shade Sangria, a little goes a long way, and it gives a really nice wash of color. It’s not super hydrating, but it also doesn’t dry out my lips.

Goes bad way too fast

This went bad after about 2-3 months. I’m so upset because I absolutely love the color. It is not long lasting or particularly hydrating, but it looked so pretty on. Going to have to throw it out because I’m scared that it is rancid - certainly smells like it is :(

Not sticky, moisturizing! Love

Love love love! Have multiple shades. Never fails and super moisturizing. No sticky feeling you normally get with gloss. So soft and smooth and moisturizing! Also love that it doesn’t taste like crap.

Perfection

I own this in two shades (pink beet and sangria) and LOVE them. I’ve used this product for 2-3 years and recommend it to all my family and friends because it’s truly hydrating and not sticky at all! I’ve purchased so many lip oils but this one is my all-time favorite!

I bought the shades Tabby and Twin Set. Love the way it feels, and the longevity of the formula. The colors are stunning, but i wish the applicator was bigger because I had to dip into the lip oil multiple times to get a good amount on my lips.

Truly unbeatable

I love this lip oil and have it in four shades but this one is my go-to and absolute favorite. It's exactly as described: nude peach but I find it makes my lip really pop especially when paired with their lipliner in "Bespoke". My new holy-grail lip product!

I would recommend these! I just got twin set and pointelle today. I have fair skin and dark brown hair and eyes. These are great for the five minute makeup day IMO. Not sticky, color is neutral but flattering. Not 5 stars because it prob lasts 45 min. Probably would last longer with a lip liner.

A very pretty, true neutral mauve

I found the original colors of the lip oil too warm, for the most part, so I was very excited to try this cooler mauve. It is oddly EXACTLY the color of my lips. I only docked one star because it doesn't do much to deepen their natural color, but it is still very enjoyable to use and I do not have to look in a mirror to apply. The shimmer is subtle and very pretty.

It performs as well as high end lip oils & the colors are great. It has just a tiny bit of shimmer. I like that it's clean. I started with the color Twin Set & now have all 4. Love these!

Everyday Wear!

Love this formula. The color is sheer but enough to give you a beautiful wash of color. It's is not sticky but with enough slip to it that makes your lips moisturizing. Definitely a lovely everyday wear.

It’s an average lip oil

This is perfectly fine but I wasn’t in love like I with some other Merit products, it could be any brand

My lips are dried from using this product and it’s supposed to be a hydrating lip oil. Mind you I have the most cooperative skin this is the first time my lips have ever reacted to a product.

Looks like you licked you lips, that’s all you get

As I said, you will look like you just licked your lips. It’s pleasant on the lips, no taste, smell, lips feel good during wear and after, but i don’t get a point of this product.

Tinted Vegetable Oil

I expected the formula to be like a traditional lip oil with a little bit of grip, but this just feels like tinted vegetable oil on my lips and disappears in 20 seconds. Not worth it at all.

I loved it but it gave me a rash :(

Man, this is tough. When I first bought it I was addicted to using it, the color the feel, everything. I always used it to hydrate my dry irritated lips. But…after a while I had to remind myself my lips were never dry or irritated before using this. All the reviews talking about getting a rash are absolutely TRUE! This product is so hard to stop using, but once I did my lips quickly went back to normal. I hope the brand redevelops it somehow, because I keep wanting to repurchase but refuse...

The color goes on nicely and isn't heavy or sticky, but it's not very long lasting and wasn't particularly hydrating. It also seems like very little product compared to similar products.

i was very excited to try this lip oil, the packaging looked gorgeous and the colour looked perfect. but for $30 CAD, it was extremely small, packaging felt very cheap, and the formula was not what i was expecting. you apply it and it feels like almost nothing is on your lips

Not as brown as I had hoped but still pretty

Picked the tabby shade up because I’ve been enjoying brown toned lips as of lately and even though it’s pretty dark in the bottle , it’s not on the lips. Still a pretty lip shade regardless. I know it’s a sheer lip but had hoped for a little more color.

The perfect daytime gloss

I really love these tinted lip oils. It’s the perfect daytime gloss that’s subtle and gives an elevated look to your everyday makeup. I wear them to work, running errands, and casual date nights. I own 3 shades so far. Hoping they come out with a classic red shade

Developed weird smell

Developed a weird smell after a few uses. I wish more lipglosses were free of add fragrance like this one. Unfortunately due to the performance I wouldn’t purchase this again.

This formula is nice and balanced. It’s very hydrating and not sticky at all. I love the shade it’s gives me a perfect pink lips for my tone. I am medium with warm undertones. Love this product!

Rotted after only 3 months

Got this lip oil in January, now it is April and within this short amount of time, my lip oil smelled rancid. It was so beautiful but not at all worth the price if it rots after 3 months. -Caused half of my lip to harden then flake up

Great formula but small applicator

Love the formula of this product, not sticky or tacky and provides just the right amount of color. I purchased Twin Set and it is mot as cool purple on me as it is in the photos, more of a warm red mauve which I prefer. Only downside is the applicator is so small. It feels like I'm applying it with a toothpick a d I wish it was more like a q-tip. Just doesn't have that luxurious feel when I put it on. But would still recommend.

Lasting & Multi Use

Perfect lip oil to use either by itself or ontop of other lipstick. Wasn't too sticky & lasted most of the night. Easy application too!

Pretty sheen

These are pretty if you’re someone who likes a lightweight lip and you just wanna throw something on to get a little color I think you would really like this. I have the shade twin set and it’s definitely just a light sheen of color merits brand is about minimalism and this is definitely that type of product

Pointelle is Lovely Shade!

Love the formula, light and not sticky at all. Color is gorgeous, great for light skin girlies for sure. Only complaint is the color description. It’s not cool baby pink, more neutral leaning warm so glad I saw in store or I would have passed on it by description alone.

Beautiful colour!

I love the colour of this merit lip oil, it feels silky on the lip, and hydrating. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer lasting when wearing, it doesn’t last long at all and needs to be constantly reapplied for colour. If they made it longer lasting it would definitely be a 5 star review.

This has quickly become my go-to lip oil - it’s hydrating, long-lasting and really comfortable to wear. I love that this isn’t sticky or heavy, and it’s still decently pigmented (even for a sheer formula). Pointelle is such a stunning ‘my lips but better’ shade and it’s the perfect partner for the Merit Lip Liner in Coupé.

A beautiful, non sticky lip oil.

A very hydrating, non sticky lip oil. It gives off the perfect amount of pigment. I can wear this with or without other makeup. It glides onto the lips and is very comfortable to wear. This shade is a perfect natural pink, its not too in your face but makes me feel so put together. I need to try more shades, as I am very impressed and wear this every day!

Have been using this product for over a year so knew I’d love the formula but “Pointelle” has become my new favourite shade for day to day. So hydrating, beautiful colour and works so well with the new lip liner in shade “Beverley Hills”. Don’t need a mirror to apply and it lasts much longer than similar products I’ve tried. Never met a Merit product I didn’t get along with!

Really love this gloss!! The colour is beautiful and doesn't over power lip liner if you're wearing it, long lasting and leaves a gorgeous shine to the lips. My only complaint (which won't stop me using the product) is that the applicator is a little small.

Perfect for everyday

I absolutely LOVE this product! It feels exactly how you would want a lip oil to feel, it's not sticky, it applies easily, and it's very lightweight. The color is pigmented very nicely (it's strong enough to see the color, but subtle enough to give a natural look). I'd highly recommend the mauve shade if you have a dark skin tone - it contrasts so nicely. Overall a great product and I will definitely be repurchasing as a new staple.

This is one of my favourite lip oils. I always wear Taupe which is from their original collection and Tabby is a slightly darker shade with a very sublet touch of shimmer. Gorgeous brown for daily wear!

This is my favourite lip oil ever! I love the stain it leaves on my lips since I’m insecure about how pale my lips are naturally, and the formula is so good. I love Merit’s Shade Slicks and own 3 others already so I was super excited to try this new shade! The formula is as amazing as previous ones, but this color wasn’t a great fit for me. I got the shade Pink Beet and I thought I’d get something more nude pink but this doesn’t look quite right to me and has a strange undertone that doesn’t look good on my skin. Product is great but the color wasn’t for me.

I've been on a search for the perfect brown lip oil and I finally found it! I already own three shades of the Merit lip oil and this was the perfect addition to my collection. It's reasonably priced, unscented, unsticky, and so flattering!

I am such a lip oil girly! I really love this formula. It doesn’t feel too heavy and gives you the perfect amount of shine, and tint. I am not a fan of overly sticky formulas and this is anything but that. Highly recommend!

Perfect for a “no makeup” makeup day

I’m a firm believer in you can never have too many lip products! This lip oil looks extremely high end and stands out among the rest. I have the shade Tabby and feel that it gives a really sheer pigment on my lips, but I wish it had just a touch more pigment. The formula is not sticky or thick at all which I like, but I do with the applicator was a little thicker so I could apply more product at once.

After using this product for a few weeks, I am loving the gloss! It wears so beautifully and keeps my lips moisturized. It’s also a natural color so it’s not so bold and a good everyday wear!

I LOVE this product! I’m not usually a lipgloss gal, I have been rocking the chapstick look for years, this has totally blown my mind. I really love this product! I got the shade "Tabby" and it looks beautiful on dark skin. It also feels moisturizing on your lips. You can wear it on it's own or layer it with a lipstick.
