Amazing Foundation, my skin looks flawless!

I actually use the shade Y315 sand. This product is amazing, but it seems that Sephora no longer carries. I've had to order directly from Makeup Forever, which is no big deal because they also offer free shipping.

Good foundation

Best foundation ever!

I absolutely love this foundation! I really can't say enough about it. It covers any blemishes or scars. It is matte but doesn't dry the skin, nor does it clog your pores. Only down side I can say is I haven't been able to find my shade R230.

Someone else wrote that it looked like sand on their face. Wasn't sure how I was going to describe it, but that kinda covers it. I was horrified when I looked in the mirror in good light. Hard to spread (I used a sponge), and I could feel it on my face all day. Not for me.

Horrible, DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE ACNE PRONE SKIN. This made my whole face break out horribly with acne. Two weeks after trying this for only a couple days and my skin still hasn’t healed

Shade Y425

PLEASE bring back shade Y425 I used it for six years straight! It was the perfect shade and everything about it was perfect. I keep trying other foundations and nothing comes close to this. I went into a swimming pool and this foundation stayed on. I miss shade Y425...

I bought this foundation for the first time now, to use at night, to go out, since I have been using the it cc cream as a foundation for a long time, I decided to give this foundation a try and it is very good so far, only I was wrong with the shade, it turned out to be too light for me, but I will continue using it.

Comfortable matte

I easily blend this out with my fingers and once it is dry, it is a comfortable matte. I could release this every day. This isn’t full coverage on my as I do see my sun spots come through. But I haven’t played with adding layers.

I love the foundation, it has high coverage. However, when I bought it, I think that the professional makeup artist who helped me choose it, took a very orange one. What I'm doing is mixing it with a lighter base.

Favourite foundation of all time

I’ve been using this product for many years and love how I can use it both as a full coverage foundation but also as a minimal foundation where I don’t put as much on and it looks natural. I have oily combo skin and find that this has never broken me out or caused any more acne. I love the way that it doesn’t feel heavy as other full coverage foundations can feel. All in all, my go to foundation that I keep repurchasing!

Not waterproof

Not waterproof at all. I've send it back. If you are looking for a waterproof foundation, don't buy this one. Beside that it's a nice foundation.

Gorgeous finish

The finish on this prouct is beautiful. It is full coverage but does not LOOK full coverage (in a good way). Having large pores, this smooted out my skin beautifully. The only thing I would mention is that there is a slight yellow undertone in my opinion, as opposed to the neutral undertones it states. That works for my skin tone, so it was a welcome happy accident.

A decent foundation

Just bought and used twice, I wouldn’t exactly call it full coverage, more medium coverage. Does apply nicely though!

Not sold on this product

After using this product for last couple weeks I am not loving the way it looks and feels on my skin. Not helping with the oily look I often have and it smells strong of chemicals and burns on irritated skin. It seems drying on my chin area yet my skin still looks oily. I have combination skin with acne and this is not the product for me.

Ive been using this for years and have went through so many bottles. Definitely full coverage but doesnt make you feel cakey

A good add to cover my age spots

It is a bit thick foundation compared to other watery foundation. Thus, it covers my freckles and age spots well. You definitely need a good cleanser in the evening when you wear this foundation.

I love this foundation. It took a bit to figure out how to apply it, but once I did, it makes my skin look flawless. I apply using a foundation brush and stipple it on my skin until blended.

Wanted to try something new m (Will be sticking with Dior - highly recommend) This foundation is very thick does not apply very easily or evenly. Very cakey. Does not stay on. Oxidizes. What a foundation flop ….

holy grail foundation

Buildable coverage, smooth and great on sensitive skin. I’ve been using this foundation for 6 years and I swear by it! I’ve struggled with cystic acne and oily skin in the past- great coverage and counteracts oily skin wonderfully! Now my skin clear and it still provides a clean finished look alone or thinned out with tinted moisturizer during summer. I personally have never experienced caking, only slight creasing under my eyes occasionally

I want that old thing back

This product was a disappointing no. I used to use the OG version of this product a long while ago, and the finish on this updated version is nothing like it. Also, the color range is surprisingly lacking. This one was a no, all around, for this brown girl.

My all time favorite foundation

I have tried a lot of different foundations, and this one is by far the best and I always come back to it! I have decently oily skin that is hard to hide, and stubborn hormonal chin acne that is also really hard to hide, but this matte foundation is actually MATTE, and does the best job where I’m comfortable allllllll day!!! Absolutely love!!

Impressive foundation that stay flawless

I'm currently searching for foundation for my wedding, therefore I am judging based on whether foundations deliver over the course of 8 hours. Absolutely LOVE this foundation. Matches my skin tone so perfectly. I have never had an issue with it oxidizing. Very comfortable to wear and breathable. I do, however, find that if you don't do the right skin prep it does look cakey. Also creases pretty bad in my undereye area without setting spray and powder but honestly I always do both of those things regardless.

It’s okay, not great

I purchased this because my shade in the Huda was sold out. I was recommended to try this because it was similar to Huda. I would respectfully disagree. It is a matte finish but for the price and formula, I would not purchase again.

Prep is key with this one

This is the best foundation I own when I know I need to have a full face for a long time or even when I want to look flawless. I have acne/combo to dry skin and this completely covers and smooths my acne. Prep is key make sure you are using a really good hydrating skin prep and a good primer and you’re golden

Super cakey. Magnifies pores and fine lines. My natural skin without this foundation looks 100 times better. If I had a hate list, this would make it to the top of it. The foundation also oxidizes atleast 2 shades darker than the tube.

This foundation is awful. Cakey and no coverage, just kind of piles up in spots. Used to use this years ago and it was great but this formula is not workable at all.

It's just ok.

It gives a smooth coverage yes, and it wasn't drying on my skin... but I wasn't in love with it. I honestly wanted a heavier coverage foundation. This isn't it. There's nothing wrong with it per say. But for the price tag and to only be par...I returned it. Plus, it isn't transfer or mask proof.

I have combo skin and this was extremely drying for my skin. Looked caked on. Not able to blend with a blender or with a foundation brush. I looked better with no makeup than with this.

I disliked everything about this product

I tried three different shades. All of them looked so yellow on me. Also, it creased badly, made my pores look huge, it was the most unflattering make up I have ever worn.

Yuck, its the worst. It really stuck to your skin in patches. Very hard to blend. If you have combination skin, forget it. Dry patches amplified, slick all over.

Holy cow, what the heck is with this foundation. This stuff looks TERRRRRIBLE on my skin. I thought maybe if I mixed it with moisturizer it would go on smoother. I will tell you now, no. It did not. It does not blend well and makes my pores look huge. So bad.

The best foundation!

I've been using this foundation for the last 4 years and I love it! I have oily skin and i've compared it with Fenty and NARS foundation, and this was the best foundation! It doesn't feel heavy on the skin and it still looks great after wearing it all night! 10/10 recommend!

Awesome full-coverage

This foundation is great. I like that it’s full coverage and has a matte finish. It suited me well.

I love how this looks on my skin and how long it lasts! I’ve been trying to find a foundation for years that works well with my skin, and I think I’ve finally found it! Foundations tend to make my skin look flaky and/or break up on my skin no matter what base I use, but this one doesn’t. It stays looking smooth and natural. The only downside is that it doesn’t actually seem to be full coverage. I really have to build it up over my blemishes, and even then, they don’t get fully covered....

This foundation meets all my criteria for coverage, wear, it’s overall great! But the strong fragrance in it kills my skin. If I wear it more than a couple of days in a row, I break out everywhere. So if you don’t have sensitive skin like me, you will absolutely love this product. I will have to save it for special occasions.

Matte Velvet is my go-to! I keep three shades handy and if I'm not spot on a shade, I will mix and it works perfectly. Great for my combo skin. Goes on great with foundation brush!

beat foundation

I have been using this foundation for 8 years. It is my go to!! I would wear it to school and have softball practice immediately after school and after sweating for hours my make up would still be perfect. You really don’t even need a finishing powder with this one, it’s lightweight but full coverage, and has a gorgeous matte finish.

I’m always oily on the forehead and nose, but I love a sheer foundation which never seems to come in a matte finish. So I love this one because you can use a tiny amount and blend/buff it in REALLY well and it gives a light coverage, that can be built up and take the place of concealer (maybe not under the eyes). I’ve been using matte velvet for 10 years now and it still doesn’t disappoint! I try out new foundations for oily skin here and there but I legit always come back to matte velvet because it’s perfect for oily skin. Doesn’t cake up and I never feel sticky or oily at the end of a long day. I honestly don’t know why I ever try new brands when I know this one works perfectly

The only good foundation i’ve used

Every foundation turns orange or yellow and clings to my dry spots, but this one doesn’t. It covers all my acne scars and doesn’t make me look cakey. A little goes a long way and this is the best foundation i’ve used to cover acne and dry patches.

Amazingly smooth looking when wearing, but it doesn’t help oily skin as people claim. It looks good for a few hours, then it slides off if anything even slightly brushes against your skin. It would be great for normal skin types

Thick like face paint

I love this brand and tried my exact color number in this new product. It was a good color match but very thick. It does not blend and dries matte. If you want full coverage this may work for you. I didn't like that it looked one dimensional and felt drying. Please bring back the old HD foundation!

turns orange

Oxidized on my skin. Turned orange. Not at first, but with later use. Sephora has 90 day return limit and refused to exchange 2 days past 90 days. Had just discovered the orange problem. Could it be a "bad" batch? I don't know but I am now stuck with it and a little less of a fan of Sephora.

I find this foundation very streaky and it creates a very patchy look. It feels like it sticks to the brush more than my skin. I make sure to properly prep my skin (cleanse, moisturizer, and prime) before applying foundation and this does not stay. It look very flaky and it dries almost immediately. I am not a fan! I Have combination skin and I think this might work for someone who has oily skin. Anyone with dry skin should DEFINITELY stay away from this foundation.

dry and not blendable

the color is nice, a bit lighter than what it looks in the package but overall nice color. although, it’s extremely dry and it dries really fast, definitely not for me. it’s really hard to blend even if you try any beauty hack, it still is really hard to blend. it shows a lot of my pores including blackheads and texture which i don’t like. it doesn’t really last that long till it starts to look very cakey and creasing all over.

This foundation is pretty terrible. It’s matte but not in a good way hard to blend with my brush. It made me look super powdery like a clown and it made my pores clogged. Only used it once and hated it! Don’t buy.

Does not replace previous version

I was using the previous version of this product (the Mat Velvet* in the smaller bottle. This new version is completely different. This MUFE matte velvet skin in shade Y215 was one of the worst foundations ive ever tried. First off the coverage is mid medium barely full. The color range is terrible imo. Got this as a sample, used it on a whim. Found my shade in store and then purchased it from Kohl’s. I’m pleasantly surprised at how well it looks and wears. I thought I finally found my foundation with Dior Airflash, but this is a close contender and I highly recommend this foundation!

Does provide full coverage and great if you are looking for a thick heavy foundation. Found it to be a little drying.

Im giving this product five stars because its a good product for its purpose: a full coverage foundation. I would not recommend this product for dry skin or older skin, though. I felt like it sat in my lines and pores and made all my imperfections more pronounced.

Used this for years

I have used this product for years. Love this product! I had a hard time finding a foundation that matched my skin tone. This one is a perfect match for me. Matte Velvet Skin also lasts the entire day, very rarely do I have to reapply.

I am on the hunt for a new foundation and the girl at Sephora recommended I try make up forever. The foundation ive been using is now looking cakey so I thought I’d go a bit less thick, this didn’t have the coverage I was hoping for but it’s nice for a much lighter coverage then what I’m used to.

I have oily skin that will get shiny within 2 hours and foundation rarely lasts 8 hours on me even with primer, powder, and setting spray. I’ve used this in Miami in middle of the summer and for day-long festivals, it doesn’t budge even when I’m pouring sweat and my face was shine-free in all my photos. I did wear this once when my skin was quite dry from a new retinol I was using and it settled in all the dry skin and fine lines so if your skin is anything less than very oily, I don’t...

This did not cover as well as I expected it to. For full coverage, it did not cover my rosacea. Maybelline Superstay does better for me for the money. I am not sure about the waterproof feature. Haven't really tested that.

sad days.. for my skin.

I was hoping this foundation would be the one. it wasn't. I have sensitive acne prone skin. first, it was too dark once it dried down. it did have a smell but it went away pretty quick. once I had the make up on I thought I would stay matte. nope. a few hours later it was gone around the sides of my nose. around my mouth. To top it off, when I washed ny face it burned badly. this was 2 days ago and I'm still dealing with the overly dried out, sensitive to the touch skin it left me with. Back...

Not for sensitive skin

I had several problems with this foundation, first it goes on very thick and is hard to blend. Second, I had a reaction to it. My face turned bright red when I took the makeup off at night, and the redness took a day to go away. I have extremely sensitive skin, so if you do too, do not use this foundation

Perfect coverage and staying power

Matte products typically throw me off, despite having oily skin. Anything overly harsh and mattifying dries out my skin and causes breakouts. The mattifying aspect of this foundation actually helps it have staying power and does not dry out my skin. By the end of a long stressful day, it holds up much better than any other foundation I’ve tired. The shade range is great, and so is the coverage. I’m really impressed by this foundation!

Just got this from Sephora. Doesn’t settle in my fine lines and stayed matte all day. I’m an oily girl and this stayed looking good. Would recommend to anyone on the oily side.

Felt thick and got darker

Was not for me. I have combination skin with acne prone areas with blemish/scars. Felt very thick, became darker as the day progressed and still transferred on to my mask/needed setting powder throughout the day. Was looking for a matte foundation with more coverage that I didn’t have to build and stayed on under my mask. It was easy to apply and did have good coverage but just didn’t like the way it felt snd looked throughout the day. Will go back to clinique stay matte makeup.

My new go-to foundation

I have extremely oily skin so I thought I’d give this a try with the free samples I got with another order. I’m really impressed with how well it stays put and how it really does stay matte all day long. Even through sweating and the Houston humidity, at the end of the day it still looked as good as when I first put it on. I’m glad I got the sample, I’m definitely going to buy more of this. I wasn’t even wearing my usual oil control makeup primer. 10/10.

Great full coverage

This product is full coverage and wears well on the skin. Unfortunately, it's not for me. The coverage is great when first applied but after a couple of hours and wearing a mask it just slid off my face. I set it with powder and setting spray but it still didn't stay on.

perfect for combination/oily skin

This foundation is perfect for my skin type. I have a combination skin, so it gets quite oily in T zone. I put it on at 11:00 am and it’s almost 8:00 pm now, my face doesn’t look oily, it is the same as it was when I put it on. FYI: if you’re like me, make sure you use a matte setting spray in between each layer you apply on your face.

A slight miracle

I love this product! It’s been awhile since I have been able to find a foundation that is full coverage and doesn’t make me oily in an hour but this does the job!! Got a sample which I feel was slightly different from the film size version but nevertheless it works like a dream!! Great product!

As a girl who has a complexion that is incredibly difficult to match, I was pleased when this worked. Great coverage, beautiful finish, and nice shade range. After 7 hours it had not moved one bit. And while the coverage was great it did not feel heavy, greasy, or thick.

I NEVER write reviews but I had to for this foundation. I received a sample of this with a previous Sephora order and I thought I would give it a try and it is by far the best foundation I’ve ever used! I never use matte foundation because I have aging, drier skin but it looks fantastic. I can’t believe the transformation. I just bought the full sized one!!

Bought this with the Make up forever shine control primer. Used it for the first time yesterday. Slathered on the primer and applied the foundation. It was awful with the primer. Primer is super mattefying and so is this foundation. It caked and made my skin feel super dry. Fast forward to today, skipped the primer on my whole face, and applied it only to my forehead and chin area. (The most greasy of my face.) My skin is combination, and without the primer and a nice moisturizer/sunscreen...

I love this foundation! I have a warm/yellow undertone and I have never found a match so perfect because everything I wear turns pink after a few hours. This product is a bit thicker and provides full coverage as promised, does not oxidize and does not dry out your skin. I wore it all day and it kept me looking fresh. Didn’t even use primer just had sunscreen on prior to foundation. Think this will be my go-to from now on.

Tried a lot of foundations before settling here. Can't complain, it gives me great coverage and my skin looks matte and pretty flawless from a couple feet away. Sometimes I feel like it does look cakey, but I also think I am just comparing myself to influencers who use lightning to seem like they have flawless smooth faces.

This foundation looks good on the skin but it smells like finger nail polish and it’s definitely not a full coverage foundation! I tried applying more and it still wasn’t a full coverage. It looks really good on the skin though so that’s the only reason I’m recommending it. If you want full coverage then I do not recommend it!!

This foundation is fabulous! After trying several foundations to cover up dark spots on my skin, I was recommended this by a lovely Sephora lady. It lasts a long time and during the summer when I had a tan, I bought a darker shade and mixed them together. It stays on all day and really covers your face well! Love it!

My Favorite foundation!

This is my favorite foundation! My skin type is oily and I have some hyperpigmentation. This foundation goes on so beautifully, stays on all day with no lifting or color change, stays on through my oil and even sweat! It gives my skin a beautiful soft focus finish too, I LOVE it!

I have to give it up for makeup forever in the large pore department. I have this, the ultra hd, and the powder foundation..and they all do a pretty good job of smoothing pores my large cheek and nose pores - better then any other brands foundations. NOT for Dry Skin

NOT for dry or mature skin. Mega coverage, if that is what you’re looking for. Very matte and dry. This would be good for oily skin. Make sure you prep the skin really well with primer before using. The consistency lends itself to a brush for the most even application. I would definitely recommend this for someone who wants full coverage and has oily skin.

Good formula

It goes on really nice and matches my skin tone, but it does tend to get patchy especially if you have dry skin. Though it's definitely worth the buy!

i actually really like this foundation. i have oily, sometimes dry skin. really nice coverage if you want a full face, and even if you want a natural look you don't need too much of this. i think the only downside is finding a good primer to go with it. i tried make up for evers mattifying primer, but honestly i hate it and its incredibly tacky

Makeup Forever changed their formula from original Matte Velvet formula. I didn't like this at this and struggle.I always wear a matte primer with this formula due to me have oily skin. I also use the milk Hydro Grip primer as well. This has helped me control the oil. I would say give it a try . It have a nice finish.

The price is kind of high but I love how the makeup looks on my face I would definitely buy it again and again.

Great Coverage. a bit too much

I like this product. I've bought it a couple times now. I do like to mix it with a lighter more runny foundation for a porcelain look. since this a heavy cream i would recommend complementing with a hydrating product/foundation .other than that ❤

Love the coverage. A good foundation if you need it stay in place throughout the day at work or while you’re out doing errands. I recommended this to some friends. This is my new favourite as they don’t sell the cover fx brand anymore sadly.

Too Cakey Looking

I received this product as a free sample with my online order. I mixed the two lightest shades to match my skin. I used TooFaced Peach Perfect Mattifying primer before applying this foundation. Although I was able to match the colour to my skin this product caked so bad. I could see it sitting heavily on my skin. It gave my skin a very strange looking texture. Not happy with this foundation and I wouldn't purchase.

Usually my skin is fairly oily but this made my skin incredibly dry. After an hour I had dry patches on my face

Get a sample before you buy

I am so glad I didn’t waste any money on the full product. I got a generous sample size of my color to try out. I have dry and sensitive skin. I hydrated my face a lot before applying this foundation. It looked bomb for the first couple of hours. But after that, it started separating and creating dry patches on my skin. Also, my skin started to look oily which confused me bc I never had that problem (my skin is typically dry). Buy a sample before you drop $ on this.

I’ve been using this for years, I owe it a review! This foundation is the best I’ve ever found. I do not like looking matte, so it’s lucky I find this lets me retain a perfect amount of ‘dew’ when applied very thinly over moisturized skin. I love this foundation! I was struggling to find a foundation that resembled the one I have from Juvia’s place (which is one of my all time favs) and this one is the closest I’ve ever found! It’s super full coverage and is super close to my natural skin colour. It’s really easy to put on and blend. If you’re someone who loves a nice matte full coverage base, this is for you!

The foundation is kind of creamy but isn't too thick. It gave great coverage when I had problems with acne. Right now I have lots of acne scarring and it continues to give me great coverage over my scars.

Oily skins BFF

I adore this foundation. I am extremely oily and often have to blot multiple times per day. This foundation is the BEST one I have found in terms of a matte finish and keeping me matte throughout the day. I have spent money on pretty much every single foundation claiming to be matte so I feel like I can confidently say this is the best one that’s out there. Will buy over and over.

I love this foundation for when my acne is flaring up. The coverage is great without looking or feeling thick and it’s a comfortable matte which I like when my skin is bad. It’s also really long lasting so I always wear this when I have a long day ahead of me.

This stuff makes me break ouT BAD. I’m not sure why but I cannot recommend this at all. It goes on smooth but for combination skin this isn’t it.

I have combination skin and I think this works really well. It covers really well and doesn’t rub off during the day. It’s also not drying on my skin. I’ve been using this for a number of years now and for the money, you can’t go wrong.

Best Foundation I Have Found

I have tried every foundation you can think of at Sephora. I really like this one for my oily skin. It makes my skin look flawless and it lasts for such a long time. It says it's full coverage, but I have acne scars that you can still see. Also, I don't use a lot of this foundation. A little goes a long way, but I will have to touch up some of my acne scars. Overall, this foundation is by far the best and I will be sticking with it.

On the Fence

I thought I loved this foundation when I sampled it. But after purchasing and wearing it a few times now and even mixing it with others I’m not convinced I’ll wear this. It didn’t have as full coverage as I thought. Also this really broke up on my face and I didn’t stay matte. It also wasn’t mask resistant. Might return because it didn’t wear well.

Favorite foundation

Took a couple tries to find the right shade and this one matches PERFECTLY! I have oily skin and this matte foundation leaves my face looking soft. Doesn't just come off with normal napkin or tissue usage.

Need perfect skin from the start

I got this as a free sample and was exited to try it out. I have mixed feeling about this product. I'm usually not a fan of a high coverage foundation but it can come in handy on bad skin days. I found that the coverage is actually buildable. So you can us this on certain areas where you have blemishes tah you want to cover. It's also comfortable on the skin specially for a full coverage foundation. I definitely don't feel like i'm wearing a mask. The big down side for me is the texture....

I initially got a sample of this and I loved it because it was such a perfect match for my skin tone possibly the best of any foundation. After trying it out a few days I would notice my skin would look a bit dull and lifeless. It does cling to dry spots at times and breaks up in laugh lines.

The Fair Skin Saviour

I have extremely fair skin and this is by far one of the only full coverage products I have ever found that is not too dark for me. After years of trying foundations and never getting that proper colour match, my fair skinned comrades this is your saving grace. It offers excellent oil control, great TRULY full coverage and most importantly, your face will actually match your neck!

NEW HOLY GRAIL FOR OILY SKIN

I tried a sample of this and had to go buy a full size of it IMMEDIATELY it was that good!! Controls my oils and provides amazing coverage while still looking natural. I would say that this gives a soft matte finish and once the day goes on, it gets dewier as it mixes with the oils on your skin but doesn’t look or feel greasy. It just stays super lightweight throughout the day. 10/10 would recommend for oily skin gals but I think this would prob work for all skin types!

Great with a hydrating primer

This is my favorite foundation - I’m on my third tube! That being said, I do understand where the negative reviews are coming from. I find that without using primer first, the foundation is too dry and unblendable and leaves you looking patchy. But WITH A PRIMER this foundation is perfect. It’s the only “matte” foundation that ACTUALLY has a mattifying effect. It keeps me shine free all day (even in humid summer weather)!

This is not Matte

I did not like this product. I was looking for a matte product to add some color and evenness for those laid back days. The Sephora associate recommended this, and said I could sheer it out by mixing it with my moisturizer. It’s sticky, heavy and caused me to break out after day 2 of using it. It does not look matte or feel matte on the face. I think this might work for someone with normal or dry skin, that’s looking for a product with a slightly dewy finish.

This is a great matte foundation for my normal to dry skin. It does not emphasize pores (which other foundations do to me) and plays well with face oil (which other foundations do not). It lasts all day and when set with a powder it hardly transfers.

This foundation does a good job of covering hyperpigmentation from acne scars. I wish it would melt into skin a little more. It kind of just sits on top. Overall I’m happy with it and plan on purchasing a setting powder to let them is melt into skin better.

Usually melts away in a few hours

I have to say this foundation looks good on my skin, but it really doesn't last long before it starts melting and revealing my pores and speckles. My skin looks worse than it really is after foundation melts. If you're looking for a foundation for photo shoot, this one is perfect. But if you're going to any sort of event that lasts for a few hours, you need a product that lasts longer.

This foundation is perfect. Not too heavy and the fact that is oil-free is perfect. Extremely buildable and a little goes a long way. I only wish the packaging was different so I could take every last bit out.

This concealer is horrible

Not sure how this is considered full coverage...I like to get rid of the dark circles under my eyes and I usually use tarte shape tape, but thought I'd give this a try because ive heard good things about this brand. This concealer is horrible! It doesnt conceal anything also the sephora worker chose a color too yellow for my skintone so it gives my eyes a dull look instead of brightening them up like shape tape does. I do not recommend this for full coverage..heck I dont even consider this...

Sephora matched me way too dark

The coverage is good but I got matched in the store and when I got home it was way too dark about 5 to 6 shades darker. I'm learning how to put on makeup so I didn't know the difference or what to look for when they were matching my shade.

My new holy grail

I love this foundation. I would say it's more on the medium coverage, my freckles could still be seen after 1 layer. This shade description matched the color perfectly. This did not crease in my fine lines. I have combo skin.

Amazing!!! Im super oily and this helps it stay matte. Although it isnt matte for a full 24 hrs it still holds up a lot! But blend fast though. If you wait too long the foundation will dry on your face

Not as advertised at all

I'm giving this two stars based on color matching. This makeup only lasts about 5 hours before it starts failing, 12 hours later it's fully separating and looks like crap. I've tried various primers, no primer, various setting powders (it's really awful without setting powder right from the start), various application brushes, even my fingers. I am very disappointed I spent so much on such a crappy product. It definitely is not 24 hour wear, not waterproof and a total disaster to my pocketbook.

Why does my face smell like vintage perfume?!

This foundation is thick and sets pretty quickly. Unfortunately it settles in pores and lines. It stayed on pretty well for most of the day, but after 9 hours it was patchy on my nose area. It smells horrible. Like old lady perfume horrible. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just a faint aroma, but it is very strong. I purchased the lightest shade because I'm very fair and it was still too dark. It also oxidized throughout the day, making me the lovely shade of oompa loompa.

5 star foundation

absolutely love this foundation. honestly neck and neck with estee lauder double wear as far as the finish and longevity. I got so many compliments about how natural it looked even though it is a full coverage foundation... I wore it for 13 hours and it did not transfer or get oily whatsoever but that could also be because I used a mystifying primer and my urban decay all nighter setting spray.

Really the worst foundation I’ve ever tried. Extremely cakey, doesn’t blend, dries too fast. Very very very bad. Looks more like stage makeup because it’s like plaster.

My fav foundation

This is my go to foundation hands down! Yes, it is absolutely full coverage, but you can definitely wear it as a light coverage as well with lighter application. This product applies great with a damp beauty blender, to be used all over the face and even on the eyelids for a flawless canvas. I have combo skin and have work this product all day without it melting off. Whether I’m going out for coffee, attending a wedding, or getting portraits taken, this has been my foundation of choice each time!

Finally!

After years of wearing foundations that just melted off my face, it's a relief to finally have found this product! I have really awful oily skin, especially in the summer, and have never had luck with 24-hour full coverage foundation until now. In combination with a good skincare routine, my face looks so much better and I feel 100% more confident.

Great coverage, too much of a perfume smell

Great coverage, perfume smell is too much. I use a Beauty blender to apply as it's quite thick. I moved to a new region with very dry air and my skin exploded into ugly acne, so I needed something full coverage but nice to my skin to not cause more issues and this did the trick. The colour worked well, as a super fair pink toned girl it is hard to find a good match. Will likely not buy again as the smell can be overwhelming.

BEST FOUNDATION

I rated this a four because when you put it on it comes out looking a little blotchy sometimes. Other than that I love this foundation! I have been using it for over 3 years. I like it because it doesn’t cause breakouts for me. The times it comes out blotchy is probably when my skin is dry. I was looking hard for a foundation that didn’t make my skin look shiny and I wanted a more natural look. I love this, people can never tell if I am wearing makeup !

FULL full coverage

If you’re looking for a super full coverage foundation, than this is it. Personally, i really do not like the consistency as it’s very very thick. I also have a very olive complexion and I found that this foundation looked extremely yellow on me and just super cakey. I do however, have oily skin with acne on my cheeks and this did a great job covering it and removing texture. SO if you’re looking for a product to cover your acne, this is it (that’s essentially why I’m giving it 3 stars).

10 years in, never switching

I've been using this foundation for at least 10 years and never plan to switch. I got matched in a Sephora store and have been reordering ever since. People always ask me which foundation I use and I'm happy to recommend this one. Like the other reviews have said, a little goes a long way which is great.

Couldn't Find My Shade!!

Worked well as a full coverage foundation and felt nice on the skin, but I couldn't find it in my shade!! My skin tone is light-medium with neutral to cool undertones, I tried multiple colors, but they were all way off. If you can find your skin tone it can look flawless. I really needed a true neutral version of Y315.

I asked a Sephora employee for a recommendation for a foundation that stayed matte, for oily skin, and was long wearing. She raved about this and said that she was wearing it. Dry skin beware!!!!

Very drying. While applying it dried down too quick to even blend it out. Held onto dry patches and made my skin look flaky. The smell sucks too and lasts all day. Maybe if you have super oily skin this would work, but if you’re normal/dry/combo I wouldn’t bother with this one.

Great for Oily Acne Prone Skin

Purchased my second tube a while back and still loving this as my everyday foundation. Love that you can use a tiny bit over product for full cover. I have oily and acne prone skin and this is great with a good setting powder to last all day.

Nothing positive

I have been lucky with excellent skin my entire life, so most foundations work for me and I have the luxury to be picky. This foundation is awful. It's thick, it doesn't apply smoothly, it's patchy and cakey. I just don't have anything good to say about it.

natural looking full coverage

I was really surprised I liked this! I went to the store planning to buy a different foundation, but after swiping it on my cheek I saw how well it covered without looking like a mask. It makes you feel like you’re skin is flawless and even though it’s full coverage it still manages to look natural.

A more dry formula that is hard to spread around the face unless mixed with a more liquid foundation. It’s very full coverage with a matte finish but can start to crease if on all day. Overall I do recommend this product for events but not an everyday foundation.

This product was ok! It lasted long but was a little dry. It took a while for me to take it off. I still have over half a bottle. I would suggest sampling it first.

The foundation honestly does what it advertises. Its full coverage and last long. My only concern is the texture/formula. The shade is perfect on my skin and I loved it when I first applied it. My only concern was that after some time of having it on, a bit of it accumulated on the sides of nose. It was not cute at all, look a lil flaky and crusty. Great coverage

I love the coverage and consistency of this foundation! It’s still creamy for a matte formula but I did notice it creased a little bit sooner than other matte foundations I have used in the past.

I just didn’t enjoy wearing this. I gave it 2 stars because the color was a really good match. I felt that it was a dry formula. I know it’s supposed to be a matte finish, but I felt that it dried so fast while putting it on. It was really hard to blend after it was applied to my face.

Surpassed My Expectations

I received this product complimentary for testing purposes and I’d like to say that I was more than satisfied. I do think the term “velvet” lived up to its name and I loved the finish. It wasn’t super drying matte but definitely reduces shine. There were a few patchy spots but overall, I’d buy this.

I think this is a good product for someone who’s more interested medium coverage with a more natural finish. I usually opt for full coverage with dewy or matte finish and so I did not feel like this product satisfied my need. Also longevity is very important aspect for me and I did not get the long longevity with this product.

Amazing!

I like this foundation a lot! Very long lasting medium buildable coverage! Not heavy on the skin very light weight. Only down fall it doesn’t look good on it’s own. I need a pore filling primer with it. I feel like it picked up on my texture but once I had a primer it looked flawless! Got sent this for testing purposes and will be purchasing again!

I really like this product when you first put I on but if you sweat at all it cracks easily. Also not good for day patches.

Great matte foundation. It is very lightweight and comfortable to wear all night. As someone who doesnt like a lot of product caked on it was the best.

I got a shade too dark, so I diluted it and used it as a tinted moisturizer. It was perfect. I also used it as a contour. It goes on smooth, and goves a great undertone. No orange or ashy look. That os difficult to do with brown foundations and I appreciate that

I received this product through the influencer program. I don't typically by liquid foundations for myself, but I like this one! To get it to my correct shade I use my usual powder over it. I found that it made my makeup last longer to have this Foundation underneath. I like the matte finish a lot!

This foundation I received from Influenster for review. It works very well. I have super oily skin and it lasts all day on my skin. It did move when I was sweaty, I live in a humid climate. I wouldn’t say it is waterproof. The color matched pretty well. This is in my current rotation of foundations. I would recommend this to any oily girl.

When I got the message I was going to get this for free from Influenster I got really excited because I love this brand. I was beyond impressed with this finish of foundation. I always use the ultra hd and I will definitely repurchase this foundation finish as well. Great for summer and keeps your skin matte. Works best with a silica based primer!

I wasn’t as happy with it when I would put it on and try to spread it out I would still have pouches on my face and I had to use the color sand but I would definitely use it again but just put a different thing on top of this coverage make upThis was a free product to try out

I received this to try for free from Influenster. It was a decent foundation, I found it controls oil well and lasts during the day. However, it is a bit drying and doesn't give full coverage as it says. I didn't mind because I do not require a full coverage foundation.

The coverage of this product is wonderful! The wear time is amazing. My only complaint would be the consistency of the product is very thick and sticky. However, once the product sets it feels very lightweight!

While initial application was great it did not hold up well throughout the day even after using a primer and setting

I love this fountain it has became one of my favorites it really helps to control my oils with separating throughout the day. Is a full coverage but doesn't feel heavy on the skin

Long lasting matte coverage!

The matte finish and longevity of this product is wonderful! I have the coverage and shine control that I want without the "cakey" look some foundations can provide. The only down side is that it dries quickly. You have to blend thoroughly and quickly or it will stay in place, which is great, as long as it's where you want. it.

I found this foundation to be thick and difficult to apply. I liked the color, but the application was not great.

Influenster sent me this foundation and I had to try it out and make a review on it. My thoughts on this foundation is that it is a good foundation but it just didn't work for me. I usually like a really full coverage foundation and I feel like this foundation doesn't have it, I did try applying another coat of foundation to get more covarage and I did see more covarage but it made me look really cakey. It also made me look a little shiny which I don't like in a foundation.

This was a very nice product. I was able to try it for free and I’ve made it a staple. I wear it a few times a week! It’s light but gives good coverage and doesn’t make my face greasy.

Love the coverage on this foundation. I got this as a tester in my Influenster box, I would get a diff shade if I were to purchase it. I like how it doesn’t make my skin feel oily or dry. It’s not super candy and it lasts all day. Would def recommend.

Controlled the Shine

Very good matte foundation. Had great coverage, easy to apply, controlled the shine. I have sensitive skin and it did not fully agree with all day wear. BUT I have a hard time finding foundations that do agree with my skin and I don't wear makeup every day. I received this product complimentary from Influenster.

I got this product from Influenster as part of their campaign. I already used the Ultra HD foundation and so I got the same shade and that was correct. It covered nicely and stayed on well. I just didn't like how thick it was! It almost clogs my brush with product, my fingers don't work, and my beauty blender was a struggle. Weird. But once it's blended, I like it. It's not the first hard-to-blend foundation I've owned and for the longevity there are definitely days I am willing to put forth...

This foundation is really good! I got mine from Influenster so I wasn’t able to properly match my shade, which I was really bummed out about because when I put it on, I didn’t want to take it off.

I got this product from Influenster as part of their campaign. The first try, I didn’t like how thick it was. It took a while to blend everything in. Once everything was blended, I couldn’t tell I had anything on. That normally sounds like a great product, but I prefer having my foundation visible. I don’t like the no makeup makeup look. After a few tries and figuring out how I like it, I don’t hate it. It’s a fine product. I still wish it was a little less thick.

Not the worst, but not my favorite. I always mix my foundations, and this seems to be good for that. I have not tried it on its own, so I cannot speak to that - but it mixes well, has good coverage, and lasts all day. Not bad!

Not a fan

**I received this product on behalf of Influenster** I was NOT impressed by this foundation, especially compared to my go to foundation. It made my makeup look caked on and very thick. It did NOT mattify my face. It lasted the whole day which was nice and matched my skin tone. I would NOT buy this Product as the price is steep for the quality.

Didn’t work for me

If there was an option for 0 stars, that would be my experience with the foundation. The only thing I liked was the shade range in this. It didn’t suit my skin at all, I used it multiple times at different times of the day to really give it a chance but it left my skin too dry and got really patchy. For the price, I think they need to fix the formula. I got it as a free sample to test but I wouldn’t ever reach for it again.
