Horrible chemical burn out of nowhere

Not awesome for mature skin

Don’t bother

This literally looks so horrible, it doesn’t not give good enough coverage, it accentuates fine lines and settles into creases. Definitely wouldn’t buy again.

Bad rash

After using this product for the last week, I have noticed my clear skin flare up with rashes every time I use this product. It smells horrible and is difficult to apply. I think I will just throw it away… pointless to use something that is hurting my skin. I took the salesperson recommendation, but next time I will just buy the brand I wanted in the first place. Don’t rely on them for help!

I enjoy this foundation…but the shade range could use some help. I am fair-light neutral. The 110 is too light for me, and the other colors don’t work. I bought a 140, which suits me well for a swatch and when I wear it. It oxidizes to peach and visibly darkens leaving me looking ridiculous. Love this but can’t find a suitable shade.

Not pleased. I tried this for the first time going to work this morning. I do not like it at all. I tried with my beauty blender. I tried with my BK Beauty brush. Product does not go on evenly. It emphasized every little flaw. eemphasized

It either dried out my skin or highlighted dry patches. I had high hopes for this product but it was one of the worst foundations I’ve never put on my face. Also it goes yellow, just all around poor quality like it was expired.

i like this foundation very much. it does not get cakey or look heavy on the skin. it is somewhat dewy without being shiny. it gives coverage, but again does not look like you have make up on.

I tried to love this foundation. I’m trying to use it up. It just settles in every line and pour and it’s just terrible for that reason. Also, the very fair shade that I ordered was very dark for my complexion.

Not for sensitive skin!

I have dry and sensitive skin. I tried a sample and after a few minutes, my face started feeling warm. When I removed it, my cheeks were so red and it took a few hours for my face to cool down. I’m so sad because this was my perfect shade.

Breakouts + Irritated Skin

While this product seems like it's high quality with good coverage, it breaks me out every time I use it and irritates my skin. At first, I thought it was my skincare, but after eliminating each possibility, I realized it was the foundation. Really disappointing as it was expensive and a total waste of money for me.

It’s nice when you try it in store but after wearing it the next day it’s super dry and patchy, which is weird because it says it’s natural and hydrating. This is one of my favorite foundations. It blends right into my skin tone and looks more like my skin than makeup. It has a nice consistency and goes on smooth.

I LOVE this foundation! I've used quite a few different foundations over the years, this one will forever be in my makeup bag! I have pretty dry and sensitive skin, but this is somewhat hydrating while still having medium coverage. Best of all, it did not irritate my skin! I'm just in love!

Gave me acne

I really loved this product, and this is my third bottle. However, it suddenly started breaking me out. I don’t have acne-prone skin, yet I developed many acne scars that still remain.

Started using this a week ago. Blends perfectly. My skin actually looks noticeably clearer when I wash my makeup off. Usually I get some acne from wear makeup. Using with hourglass illusion primer. Comes off easily with a gentle cleaning milk from caudalie and micellar water.

Just finished my first bottle of this and I really loved it. The coverage was perfect for my currently-clear but acne scarred skin, and I loved the dewy finish. I decided to write this review after seeing that the first two reviews that showed up for me were 1-star. Everyone’s skin reacts differently to things, so keep that in mind! My skin is pale, has acne scars as I mentioned, and is normal in terms of oiliness. This product worked well for me.

Dry skin girlies beware!!

I have dry skin, and a 10/10 prep routine that looks good with a variety of base products like this but every time I used it, my skin would be incredibly dry, tight, and extremely flakey.

Good for My Sensitive Skin- Love!

I have very sensitive skin, and this foundation does not break me out… it actually makes my skin way better! I’ve even accidentally slept with it on without any problems. So good! I have oily skin, so it’s longevity is iffy. It definitely needs a setting powder if you want it to stay all day and if you don’t want blemishes to highlighted. Expired and caused a rash

I really wanted to love this, but I received a product that had an expiration date of a week out from receipt. Lovely coverage and SPF

I think the shade I was matched with is a bit pale for me but the coverage is lovely, not cakey, and SPF built in :)

I used this foundation for a couple days and I’m loving it so far it’s not as heavy as other foundations I used and it has SPF in it which is great! I wouldn’t reccomend this for mature skin with a lot of fine lines and wrinkles because it tends to settle in

You’ll look like a ghost or an Oompa Loompa

Tried a sample version and loved it, but there was no color label on the sample. Ordered foundation #110, #120, #130, and #150 to try to match my skin tone. None of them match leaving my skin looking orange or pale white. Never had this issue before skin tone matching with a foundation. This is ridiculous! I love the texture and the longevity of the foundation, but the color hue is completely off! Won’t be a returning customer!

Great until it wasn’t :(

I loved this foundation. The shade range was on point. Not always easy to find a light skin olive match and Kosas provided that. I used this for months and then started to develop a rash. Coincidently it was time to purchase a summer shade and the new bottle presented no issues, until a few months later. Unfortunately I had to discontinue use. My guess? The lack of “preservatives” or naughty ingredients results in short shelf life. : (

The perfect everyday foundation

This has been my daily foundations for years! I am acne prone and this foundation really keeps my acne at bay. The lightest layer of this provides a natural and glowy finish to your skin and really covers blemishes nicely. I have yet to find a foundation I like more. I am also oily and it never pills or separates for me which is very rare for me to find in a foundation

Solid Coverage, but Needs a Little Help

I really appreciate the clean formula of the Kosas Foundation—it’s free of most toxins, which is a huge plus for me. The coverage is decent, giving my skin a nice, even look without feeling heavy. One thing to note: I had to go a little lighter than the shade Sephora recommended to get a better match for my skin tone. Was skeptical after they discontinued the bare minerals formula I used for years. This exceeded my expectations. It has the perfect coverage and although it goes on matte, it gets dewy and skin when it settles

About expiration date!

I gave 3 stars because it looks really nice and smooth in my 53 years old skin but it was about 2 months from expiration date, couldn't find any other in the store within a year from expiration.

I have acne prone skin and the sephora rep recommended this product as it is clean and non-comedogenic. After one use, it gave me acne and skin reaction which I initially thought was due to my slim type. But after clearing my skin I re-tried and still ended with acne

i finally found my perfect shade match (impossible as a light-to-medium olive) and i love the finish on this!!! unfortunately the allergic reaction did come for me too and i have to phase this out of my routine.

Don't Trust It

I went through two bottles of this foundation and loved it. However, I've seen the photos and reviews showing allergic reactions and breakouts and there has been NO RESPONSE by the brand. I may have just gotten lucky with my bottles, but I'm not going to take a gamble on a reaction like those I've seen. Kosas needs to step it up as a company and start addressing the harm their product is causing.

I absolutely love this foundation. I have been using this foundation for about four years now and it is one of my favorites ever it’s so lightweight on the skin yet full coverage and it gives you a really nice glow.

I tried this on in store and was super excited to bring it home and use it. However, after wearing it a couple times, I noticed it was very patchy and wouldn't blend. It's also marketed as dewy but it's anything but dewy. It also dries down a completely different color - I bought the light cool shade and it was a perfect match. But when it would dry down it would be a darker orange. It's also water based and I feel like that just makes a bad formula.

I did not like this formula. It is very thick, heavy and cakey. I purchased light medium neutral 200 but it was a very warm orange/yellow. It was supposed to have subtle pink undertones but it was orange without pink. I returned it.

This is my go to everyday foundation. For me personally, it does work well with my skin type, a little goes a long way. I think you get a lot of product for the price you are paying which I do appreciate. I also appreciate the fact it is a cleaner foundation which is why I did choose to try it in the first place.

Allergic reaction horror

“Skin-improving” is interesting because this foundation caused a severe allergic reaction. My face and eyes are red, swollen, itchy and feel rough to the touch. Great, Moisturizing Foundation!

Allergic to One of the Ingredients

Not for the fair, cool tone girls

I bought this in the lightest possible shade for a cool undertone, and it was still way too dark and too yellow for me! Even on the face, not just the neck. It’s too bad - I like the formula, finish and coverage. But if you have light pink skin, this may not be for you. I have extremely sensitive, acne-prone skin and this did not cause any problems for me, which is surprising given the others that have had severe reactions to this foundation.

The color match was spot on. The coverage was light to medium, but after a few hours, it separated and looked greasy. I have combo skin, and I could not make this work on any part of my face. Applying it with a brush is not ideal. My hands worked best. Thankfully I didn't experience any allergic reaction, as other reviews mentioned.

Oh my God, this stuff is crap. It ruined my face! Red itchy rash after wearing it for a few hours. So I’ve been using this like once a month not every day and getting a rash. Red, swollen, itchy face.

I too am like the many that have had a bad reaction to this product. Bought it more than once and never had an issue with it. Took a little break over the summer to use something lighter then my first time using it again woke up to a terribly red and swollen face with a painful and itchy rash. It being my 1st wedding anniversary weekend was just icing on the cake. Will be throwing away and never purchasing again. Needs to be removed from shelves with so many people experiencing this issue.

My everyday foundation!

I love how this foundation looks especially when I first put it on: dewy and glowing. It doesn’t have amazing staying power but it feels right for the coverage (medium)

Like all the other reviews, I was trying to figure out what caused the irritation. Read the ingredients and realized it’s probably the caffeine, which shouldn’t be used all over your face. Caffeine can irritate your skin, causing redness from the increased blood flow

Horrible Allergic Reaction

I was so happy when I initially bought this product as it was a perfect color match, however After just a couple uses I started having a horrible allergic reaction, my face turned red and incredibly itchy, I won't be using this again

I wanted to love this. The coverage and colors are great, but I had an allergic reaction - my skin turned bright red, was terribly itchy, and my eyes swelled up. I have never in my life had any other allergic reaction. It took me awhile to make the connection to this product, but now that I'm reading back the reviews I see a ton of people are having the same issue! I got allergic reactions to kosas after a few months. My face was red, swollen and hot after applying it. Throwing it away immediately after confirming my allergenic reaction with it with my dermatologist.

Ruined my skin

Awful awful awful product. This trashed my skin over the span of 3 days. My face is dry and flakey and I’ve developed a rash of acne all over my face. Honestly needs to be a recall on this trash and it’s a shame considering this is one of the only lines with decent olive options.

Sold an expired bottle

This foundation definitely improves your skin. I deducted two stars one for the product being incredibly thick and two for Sephora selling me an expired product. The staff is always chatting with each other perhaps they could doing something useful.

For someone who has very sensitive acne prone skin this spf, moisturizer, and foundation is a must have. Most of these types of products break me out. Great… until it became a medical nightmare

Same story as other reviewers. Had the product for a few months after an in-store color matching and loved it! Great finish, perfect color. And then I started turning bright red and itching. I thought it was a new retinol for several weeks, then I thought it was my sunblock. Nope. Love! This looks beautiful on my skin and doesn’t highlight imperfections or look heavy on my skin like other foundations have. I have such strange skin right now - acne prone and sometimes oily, sometimes dry, and this foundations always looks great. Stays all day too. 5 stars

Gorgeous finish + color match; VERY BAD REACTION

I love love loved this product for the first three months… then it started to cause redness and tiny skin eruptions that I’ve never seen before. The other reviews here are correct - this makeup looks and feels gorgeous, and the 160 light neutral olive is the best shade match of any makeup ever on me, but regrettably, it will eventually mess up your skin and therefore is not worth it. I've been using this foundation for a month and I love it! The shade match is great and the finish is natural, while also giving me a good amount of coverage (I have acne spots and redness). It also works well with my other cream products.

For about 3 months, I loved how this product looked on my skin and I thought it was the best foundation I had ever bought. Favorite foundation !!!!

I purchased 2/2024, so it’s been about 4 months of use. I have texture from old acne scars, some hypopigmentation and redness. It does not settle in my pores, or look cakey, it makes my skin have a healthy natural glow. The best part is I don’t even need to use a primer! It stays on easily for 12 hours, I work night shifts, and it doesn’t separate or budge! I even had a few coworkers comment on how great my skin looks, a fav forsure!

Caused Bumps, redness and peeling

At first I thought I had found the holy grail of foundations with mineral spf and a dewy finish. After a few uses started to develop bumps all over my face, redness and peeling. Stopped using it for a week and skin is clearing up finally! Be careful with this if you have sensitive skin

My new everyday foundation

I love how easy this is to apply on my face with just my fingers. I get a dewy finish and it lasts a while on my skin for it not being a matte finish. I love that it has spf.

Healthy Glow

I finally found the perfect color Light Medium Warm - 190 and it looks flawless. I bought the concealer in 03W and it looks beautiful together. I highly recommend this clean foundation. I have sensitive skin and I’ve had no issues.

Formula emphasizes skin texture and fine lines

Finding foundation over the age of 40 is a challenge these days. This foundation is kinda on the thick side and settles into fine lines and emphasizes large pores and skin texture, and the finish looks quite emollient and shiny. Feels kinda heavy on which makes me want to take it off. I'm still on the hunt for something that provides color correction and seamlessly blends.

I really loke the color match, finish, and clean ingredients, but I just bought this last week and the expiration date is August 2024! Unacceptable! Also, perhaps it’s the niacinamide or the nearly expired product, but my sensitive skin is breaking out like crazy since I started using this.

Did Not Last Long

I wanted to like this product so badly. The color match was great and the way it looked on my skin upon first application was so flawless - that is until one hour later. Does not last at all, sadly!

I wish it Worked of Me

The glow was beautiful, formula was hydrating and didn’t cling to dry spots but I just could get a good match. Always got a bit too orange, and I tried a few different shades. Main issue was that it cause painful cystic acne.

WHY IS SEPHORA STILL SELLING THIS PRODUCT?

I had to return the foundation after using it twice. I bought it despite some of the reviews and while i didn’t experience the same severe reaction as most, I noticed my face and neck itching throughout the day with the foundation on. I felt confident trying this product seeing it categorized as “clean”. Unfortunately after 1 use my entire face and neck broke out in hives and swelled up. Exactly What I Was Looking For

I’ve been a loyal customer of IT Cosmetics matte CC cream for about 10 years. It mattified my combo-oily skin perfectly and stayed on all day, with good coverage and yet very lightweight consistency. I've used Kosas Revealer foundation for at least 2 years; I liked that the ingredients were some of the cleanest at Sephora. Stiff, dry and when it sets it makes me look 20 years older. So heavy and cakey, no matter how sheer I tried to apply it. Made my pores stand out terrible and why does this company refuse to make olive shades with a yellow undertone and instead seems determined to make “olive” shades that are strictly orange. This product led to several months of breaking out after a few uses. If you suffer from atopic dermatitis (eczema, dry, sensitive skin), I don’t recommend this. I am now happy using Tower 28, accepted by the National Eczema Foundation

Horrible, painful, do not buy

I wish I could give this no stars. Goes on fine, settles into wrinkles and fine lines in about an hour, and starts burning after two. My skin is completely red after washing my face, and about a week later, my skin is literally scabbed over. This is not skin perfecting. I tried to return it, but because it took me so long to figure out what was causing my skin to react, I was out of my return window, and Sephora suggested I give this product to a friend to “see if they have a reaction.”

Holy grail foundation

I have sensitive and acne prone skin. I am also prone to perioral dermatitis. All other foundations break me out. I have been using this foundation for over year and it has improved the clarity of my skin. It helps cover my pores I don’t use any vitamin C or AHA/BHA products with this foundation due to the niacinamode. and hyperpigmentation.

A surprising win

I do not have sensitive skin AT ALL and this foundation broke me out severely every time I wore it. As soon as I took a break from wearing it for a week my skin went back to normal. Threw away half the bottle. Not worth it at all!

SEVERE REACTION

BEWARE! Sephora needs to pull this from the shelfs due to all the same exact complaints for others. This caused a HORRIBLE painful reaction, severe swelling and chemical burn. See photo - yes those are tears in my eyes! Had to go to quick care for steroids. Shame on you Kosas!!

As I type this my face is burning , blotchy , swollen. This is the third time this occurs because the first two times I did not attribute it to foundation as this is “clean beauty and I thought it was maybe something g I ate or my makeup remover as I noticed after removing makeup. Horrible Allergic Reaction

I used this for over 3 months off and on, and each time my sink would get small red dots that would go away. Yesterday I used again for the first time 2 weeks, and my skin developed a horrible allergic reaction with swollen eyes and chemical peel. Off to quick care I go! BEWARE LADIES

Currently recovering from face Allergic reaction

Great color match but at first the foundation was working fine for me, then recently I got an allergic Reaction on my face from it. The bottle I bought is only a few months old so I’m not sure why that happened. I’m disappointed

Tbh when I first wore this I wasn’t a fan, my face looked oily or sweaty But when I put translucent powder on top it was perfect and flawless and now it’s my new favorite!

Watch out for allergic reactions/chemical burns

I’ve never been one to have sensitive skin. But this product landed me in the emergency room with an awful allergic reaction. My entire face from my jaw line up was so red and swollen and itchy and burning. I want to warm everyone not to buy this product. It doesn’t blend well with your skin

I wanted to love this product, but it leaves marks and creases around my face. I have combination skin and it feels more matte than luminous as I wanted. I hope they can improve this product.

Full Coverage Foundation

I really love the Kosas Foundation. It provides full coverage, and is a long lasting wear. The product is not sticky, and the two in one of foundation and sunscreen is really a plus. It looks nice and spreads evenly.

Buyer Beware

This foundation has got to be one of the worst ones I’ve ever tried, and it’s sad because it’s the closest shade match I’ve found for myself. It smells strongly of florals, and it causes hives all over my face and neck. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I think the formula just has too much going on that it's really harsh on sensitive skin and the shade range doesn't do it for me the lightest shade was too dark and too warm on me and I didn't like the way it looked on my skin.

Horrible skin reaction

I loved this foundation for over a year, then in September I got a new bottle after my old one expired and started having a skin reaction. I didn't think it could be this foundation (since I used it for a year prior) and continued using it until January, when I finally looked up reviews. It looks like a lot of people had the exact same reaction as me, caused by this product. I checked my product, and it was NOT expired. Bad reaction builds over time. Do not buy

It was great at first, but then it started burning my face. Painful itchy red swollen eyes and cheeks that would emerge at the end of a work day with this on. I wear makeup only occasionally so it took a long time to figure it out. I’ve never had a reaction to foundation before. Will be trashing this and going back to MAC

Amazing when paired with right products

A lot of people get irritated when pairing this with other products containing niacinamide, but if you’re careful with your pairings I found this foundation to be truly amazing. My absolute favorite! Truly changed my skin. Pairs well with Embryolisse Lit Crème

Peeling effect

The first time I applied this foundation, I used it with their new hyaluronic serum. I was not impressed at all. It immediately created a peeling effect. I attempted to use it again today, and I like it a little better. It does seem to have a drying effect on the skin. I definitely need a lot of moisturizer before applying this but if you apply too much moisturizer and serum, it starts to peel. I will also say that it didn’t do much for the fine lines and pores.

Definitely goes for sensitive skin

This product gives me a nice glow without compromising my skin. I can wear it all day and minimum to no breakouts. I thoroughly enjoy the skin shine and healthy glow. Very little goes far.

stop looking, this is it

It's been really hard to find a foundation that will match my olive undertone. A true olive, neutral undertone. Kosas not only understood the assignment but then leveled up by adding amazing skin loving ingredients. My skin has definitely improved, and for once, the color actually matches my skin (no orange). Great breathable coverage that loves my skin as much as I love it. You MUST try it.

easy to use and effective foundation with spf 25

As a 7 year verified beauty expert, I love easy to use products that are portable and highly effective and this hits the mark. This goes on easily and quickly blends into the skin. Its is cooling and lasts all day leaving a natural, glowy, hydrated and brightening effect. My skin looks plump, youthful and radiant. my pore appear smaller

Not light enough

Way too dark for being the third lightest shade. I am very fair with cool undertones. This was the lightest cool toned shade. I do not recommend. It was very yellow and way too dark.

Rash after use by date

I loved this for the first month that I had it. The color match was perfect and it gave a really nice full coverage, plus the benefits of skin care. Literally the first day of Feb (the use by date on the bottle) I developed an itchy, red, dry rash.

Irritated My Skin!

Allergic Reaction! My face was very irritated, red, itchy & bumpy after using this foundation. The irritation lasted for several days. I’ve never had a reaction from makeup like this before; I do not have sensitive skin.

Horrible Skin Reaction

Horrible skin reaction! I used this for one day. The next day I woke with burning sensation on my skin, tightness, and redness. Had to get prescriptions from my doctor to clear it up.

Don’t buy this.

Horrible reaction from this non-expired product and the concealer. After weeks of issues not realizing the source and 2 doctors appointments, I saw spots of black mold growing inside the bottle.

I don't use much foundation, but I ended up really loving this one due to its long wear and feel on my skin. Unfortunately, this made me break out so badly and ruined my skin for a few months even though I have never had bad acne breakouts in the past.

Burns skin after weeks of owning/using

I used this product for about 4 months and it was fine, not the the best or worst foundation I've ever used. However, I have horrible HORRIBlLE eczema / dermatitis on the spots of my face where I most heavily use this product. Good coverage but a lot of separation

I wanted to really like this foundation since I had heard Kosas had great products ( not that they don’t) but this foundation separated a lot no matter how hard I tried to make it work. I used it with and without primer and even tried to use it without my usual skincare prep. It still wouldn’t stay on my skin. Maybe it’s my skin but overall I wouldn’t recommend this product.

Solid if you need full coverage

I use this product for stage makeup, as it is a very heavy and full coverage foundation. I do find it to be a bit streaky specifically when you apply it with a brush and i find myself going in with a sponge to blend it out afterwards, even when i only apply a little bit.

Allergic reaction. Still not sure what in it has caused the issue, maybe the zinc oxide? Such a disappointment because it’s a nice formula coverage-wise and looks natural, much like the concealer, which has never caused a reason.

Terrible for sensitive skin

This product RUINED my skin! After months of Accutane and other harsh acne treatments, I turned to this foundation, thinking it would be a preventive foundation alternative. Don't fall for the flashy marketing of this brand! The amount of active ingredients in this product is overwhelming for sensitive skin. I had a terrible reaction to this product, resulting in terrible break outs that have taken months to get under control. Very disappointing. I will never use Kosa's products again.

Allergic reaction

I’m so thrilled with the color match and the formula. This is the only foundation I’ve ever had that is actually olive enough, without having to add color mixers. The formula is smooth and kind to my textured,oily and almost 40 skin.
