A true neutral!

I normally order cool tone foundations because “neutrals” tend to run really orange but this one is PERFECT. It blends so effortlessly into my skin and I would say has medium coverage. I’ve applied it with fingers, a brush, and a beauty blender and it’s perfect every time.

Best of the best

This is the best foundation I have ever used. I hope this never changes or goes away. I have very dry skin and this is the only foundation that doesnt stick to any dryness. It lasts all day, like all day without sinking into any lines! I was worried about breakout but I have had no issues in the like month I’ve used it.

NEVER GOTTEN MORE COMPLIMENTS

I am amazed! I have gotten more compliments on my skin since buying this foundation than I have in my entire life. Not my makeup, my skin, which means your foundation is perfect. It has great coverage but doesn’t feel cakey at all, and blends really well with blush etc. Would absolutely recommend.

After I started using this foundation I noticed that the shade was way off but also made my skin look more textured personally wouldn’t buy it again because of the price and also didn’t give me that smooth look

True to its name 

I was in the hunt for finding a foundation and after watching the reviews, I went to Sephora to try this foundation. Instantly fell in love. I was able to blend it with my fingers and it gave me a skin like finish just what the Name claims. I’m still in the hunt for finding the right shade for me, but it and seems promising. I was matched with 9W but hearing that it becomes darker eight and was the perfect shade thus far. I’m still testing out the shade, but this is the formula that works...

Not for me

I liked it but it made me break out of you’re acne prone I wouldn’t recommend

Pretty

Very liquidy

Not my favorite foundation, but fine… Veryyyyy liquidy and felt super wet on my skin. I know a lot of people rave over it so to each their own, but not a fan of the consistency

Really wanted to love this product but it clung to my dry patches right away.. the texture is nice and it feels comfortable on the skin but unfortunately does not work for people with dry patches.

The reason I didn’t give this 5 star is because I do have more mature skin so it does settle a bit into my fine lines, but coverage is outstanding and glides right on my face!

I love this product!!! I did allergy patch testing and found out I was allergic to 9 ingredients found in basically all of my makeup so I had to start over. This foundation was one of the only 2 higher end foundations I can wear. At first I hated it but that was because I did not shake it and so it ended up looking watery and patchy. It is so important you shake it!! Not a fan of the glitter in it, but I have gotten so many compliments on my skin and how natural it looks.

This is my holy grail foundation! It has a beautiful and natural finish. Highly recommend for dry and/or sensitive skin.

My forever foundation

This product is absolutely stunning. I’m so picky with my foundations, and this has been the only one I’ve been reaching for non stop.

Nope for me

HATE it! So oily so slippery separates from the skin would not recommend to anybody. They completely miss the mark. I think this foundation is a complete trash made my skin look blotchy uneven accentuated my pores hate it.

It was good at first then I noticed they had glitter in it and it made my makeup separate a little bit idk I tried it with different products didn’t work out

Don’t waste your money

I really had high hopes for this foundation. I love all his products and this foundation sucks. It’s separated within hours on my skin. It didn’t hold up. I had patches and even though it says it’s it’s buildable it’s buildable it’s not buildable it’s buildable every time I tried building it’s buildable it’s not buildable

I am finishing the bottle after buying it 10 months ago now and repurchasing the same color and brand. The foundation has great coverage, blendable and no issues at all. Also absorbs well into my regular/dry skin

Think twice if you're oily or have combo skin

Not for oily or combo skin. Zero coverage all oil. It made me breakout. I love make up by Mario products the foundation wasn't one of them. I get oily as the day goes on and it look great when I set it but as the day continued it only got worse and worse no hated it.

Not great

Bought this for a wedding, it worked fine at first but after two weeks the foundation started to separate. I had to roll and shake it every time I needed to use it. Not worth it for the price

sensitive skin win

I have perioral dermatitis and my favorite foundation was discontinued. I was hesitant to try a new product but am actually noticing an improvement in my skin? plus it looks flawless. 10/10

Pores and fine lines, OH MY!

Color was good but pores and lines are enhanced by the formula. If emphasizing your age is your jam, then you’ve found your perfect foundation. I tired it with primer and a setting spray as well and it’s a hard NO!

Patchy and Irritating!

Absolute NO! Terrible actually. Patchy upon application, and then my face started itching. Itching turned to burning. My face was warm and bright red. I have slightly sensitive skin, but this is not a normal reaction to makeup for me. I had my primer on, as normal, and I wear makeup often. If this works for you, great. For me, it was a thick mess and did not work out.

Fav Foundation!

This foundation lasts all day, it stays from when I leave my house until when I want to take it off at night. Love love love!

Best foundation ever!

I bought this foundation after reviewing lots of reviews. im 45 and going through chemo and needed something more hydrating and medium coverage as my Nars foundation wasn't cutting it and looked very dry and kept separating on my chin. this foundation works wonders. makes my skin look hydrated and has zero separation, and only a couple of pumps cover my whole face. This is definitely my new go-to foundation!

It’s ok

After wearing this I’ve noticed that the coverage is actually light it doesn’t settle lines it’s a light matte which I liked but I feel it doesn’t cover age spots or broken capillaries which is also a concern for me and there isn’t enough shade choices

Really loving the natural finish this foundation provides. Since I have oily skin, I usually stay away from anything too radiant, so I was excited when Mario released this formula. It definitely benefits from a bit of powder in the T-zone, but overall it wears beautifully throughout the day. It holds up well with minimal touch-ups and never looks too matte, cakey, or heavy on the skin.

A new staple in my routine

I have tried a lot of skin tints & foundations and just wasn’t finding one that stood out to me and worked for my skin UNTIL I tried this product. Love this foundation. i have combination skin, however, this foundation leaves me luminous as opposed to oily, IF i don't set my face. It looks great. Also, shout out to Mario and the makeup by mario team for making true neutral shades. This foundation turned me into a loyal brand follower and now have over 10+ of their products. For great results, set with their loose setting powder and spray.

I went to Sephora to ask for a sample prior to purchasing this because I really wanted to see how it looked on my skin, and WOAH did I underestimate this. This foundation BEAUTIFUL on my skin! It did not feel heavy, but really gave me a blurring effect. It’s definitely a medium to buildable coverage. I I also had it on my skin for over 12 hours and it did not budge. Finally a complexion product for my combo skin! I love the shade range, especially as an olive undertone it’s really hard to find a close shade match. In terms of performance, this foundation leaves a nice satin finish and is medium coverage.

Smooth, even skin

This foundation is pretty good. I have pretty clear skin to begin with. An occasional pimple or patch of texture on my cheeks near my nose is normal but rare. My biggest concern is my red cheeks. Depending on if I am too warm or if my skin is irritated, I will have red cheeks that run from the top of my cheek bones down towards my jaw. This does a good job covering it. Amazing coverage

Easily to build on and blend. Not greasy or heavy feeling. Doesn’t feel like I have on foundation and that is everything to me.

I did not feel this was medium coverage. I build it up and did not notice a difference. The formula felt kind of matte too, I didn’t really like how it looked on my skin but it did blend very easily and was a nice finish on my skin. Just wasn’t for me

My go-to foundation for colder months

I love this foundation for winter/colder months because my skin does tend to get dryer, and since this is a hydrating foundation, it helps bring that factor to my face. I don’t it during the summer months because I sweat so much, it would be hard to have a hydrating foundation on top of that. But this foundation is my holy grail. I love having it and it doesn’t separate or make me break out. It looks great on my skin. And I love it!!

Confusing

I did not find this to be luminous or hydrating. The product was matte. Decent coverage, but not flattering. My skin didn’t look good in natural light or the bathroom. Glad I got a sample size!

Full coverage

The foundation is full coverage but very thick, I had to mix in a bit of moisturizer to allow for easy blending. It could use a bit of tweaking

Sephora skin analysis Epic Fail!

The product might be okay if I received the correct color. I underwent an in-store skin analysis through the app the Sephora beauty consultant used. The analysis came back for me to use ivory color. She tried that and I looked orange, so she decided to give me light neutral. The entire time I’m telling her that I have fair skin with pink undertones and this doesn’t make sense. So she talked me into purchasing it and of course it makes me look yellow. Do your skin analysis app doesn’t work...

Gorgeous

I'm surprised how much I absolutely love this product. I'm not really a foundation girly in general; I have a lot of bottles of beautiful foundation, but I've never really looked forward to putting any of them on before - until now. I LOVE this product! I am blessed that my skin is in pretty good shape, but I still was really impressed with the coverage, the staying power, and how much this looks and feels like real skin. 100% recommend. I hope it's never discontinued!!

Caused my dry skin to break out

I have mature dry skin and this made my skin break out after using 3 times. Maybe its the coconut oil in it? Hopefully I can return it.

Not for me...

Okay I'm really not a dramatic review writer but I think this is the worst foundation my poor skin has ever worn. I have combination/normal skin and this was super oily and shiny and wouldn't stay on, with or without primer, or with setting powder and spray. It would separate on my face throughout the day and look cakey.

Wrecked My Skin

Really wanted to love this foundation. It feels nice on the skin and offers buildable coverage. After a month or so of wearing, I developed horrible acne. I’ve never had any issues with acne or texture until I used this product. Back to the drawing board.

Holy grail foundation!

I have never gotten so many compliments on my skin until I started wearing this foundation! The luminous, skin-like finish is so beautiful and the coverage is very buildable. This product definitely caters to normal to dry skin, but even at my oiliest, I find myself layering this foundation on top of a matifying primer! I have already finished my first bottle and I will definitely be repurchasing ❤️

Great for special occasions!

I really like this product! It’s perfect when you want your makeup to last all day for an event or a special night out. I have oily skin, so I use it when I need full coverage, it’s not something I wear every day. I make sure to clean and prep my skin well, and the finish looks amazing!

I’ve been using 2N by mbm since 2023 it’s the only foundation that has ever matched me and it looks flawless❤️once wore it for over 24 hours to a club- work- concert - then work again and it held up! very disappointed 😞 I finally found my perfect shade match 10C -light with medium cool undertone and im slowly running out and I can't go store get it beacuse I live 7 hours away for sephora and they don't sell my shade on here anymore I would give 5 stars but now gets a one is it discounted somthing???

worst MBM product

shades all run so golden and yellow so there was not match for me. 10 C in the store was too dark yet 7C and 8N are golden and not true to colour. The same issue with the concealer where there is no shade for me due to the fact that it's so yellow toned. There isn't even a light medium peach shade or a proper pink undertone in both shade ranges. This also burnt my skin very bad.

A no go for me

This was recommended by a sales associate for my “mature” skin and was a no go. The Foundation is so oily, I could never get past the texture of it.

Wet look

I really wanted to love it. However, the finish was just a big no for me. I live in a place where the humidity is high most of the year. That foundation is not for the hot weather.

this blends so well, is so dewy, really good coverage. the shade range is good. this wears really well all day but the only thing is that this can be greasy. i would recommend this for dry skin not for oily!

Good foundation for dry skin

I have dry skin and in my 30s (some wrinkles) and this foundation is really amazing. It has a skin like finish and sets well with powder. I would say it's med/high buildable foundation and looks best with a sponge. Depending on the primer/setting spray I use it can look very glowy afte 8-10 hours wear but I like it - for oily skin might be too much

Long lasting amazing glow, color will not oxidize

Best I have found!

I have been searching for something, either a concealer or a foundation, that would give me some coverage for my rosacea prone skin, and give life to my 52 year old complexion. This is IT!! It's lightweight, moisturizing, and provides buildable coverage. It didn't cause any skin reaction (I'm super sensitive), and left me with a lovely glow. Best foundation for textured skin

I had a Professional MUA use this on me for a wedding and my skin was flawless. I bought some for myself when I ran out of my Haus Labs foundation and even though I’m not a MUA - this foundation actually made my skin look better. olive friendly!

I've been using shade 12O for a year or two. It gets a bit dark/orange for me over winter so I tried 11N. I swear 11N is more green that 12O even though it's a designated 'olive shade' and 11N is the 'neutral.' I don't know what's up with that other than to say his shades are versatile and multidimensional. Anyway, if you need more green and less orange... 11N is a fabulous winter shade for lighter medium olives. Usually neutral shades are too pink and have a dulling effect but not this one....

It gives great glow and looks amazing on skin but made me break out because it contains coconut oil

I love what this  brand stand for, but unfortunately, this foundation does not work well for oily and acne prone skin… I would not repurchase  this .. after applying the foundation, I feel like my skin was more oily than usual .

I’ve been using this product for a while. At first I really liked it. But I think it literally has sparkle in it. I couldn’t figure it out for a while why my face was sparkly in places I never put sparkle. It’s definitely the foundation. Am I tripping or is this happening to other people too?

Love it - but must be used with setting powder

I love this foundation! It’s super dewy and natural, while still having good coverage. A thing to note tho is that you have to use setting powder with it, otherwise it gets patchy and disappears throughout the day.

Sparkly more than illuminating

Do not understand the hype! Oily mess.

I don't understand the hype. People must be getting paid to write these reviews. I applied this with my hands and brush and the coverage was nonexistent. My skin felt super oily. I know this is a dewy foundation but it just felt like an oily mess. I'm returning this tomorrow.

didnt work for me

i have normal skin with an occasional dry patch, this foundation made my skin appear super greasy/oily & would not stay on throughout the day. i tried different primers, concealers, setting powders, & setting sprays & nothing i tried made a difference.

Beautiful foundation and shade match

I first swatched this in store and was surprised how accurate the shade match was so I decided to buy it. This is a beautiful foundation. It truly gives you a medium buildable coverage, while keeping your skin glowing. The only downside for me is that my skin is oily, so it does tend to make my skin oilier towards the middle of the day. Overall, I love this foundation and I would purchase again.

Pretty covering and very decent quality foundation

Very beautiful weightless high coverage foundation, I truly enjoyed using it and didn’t dare to try anything new till I finished it, now I have another favorite one, but this was my first product from this brand after which I fell in love with all make up they produce!!

new shade 3.5C is perfect muted neutral shade. my other matches are fenty140 nc15 armani 1.5/4 nars deauville, abh160c. i have combo oily dehydrated skin. I use this as my undereye concealer too and it's the best I've tried. it doesnt cling or dehydrated my dry area and I have sensitive skin and this doesn't irritate. The product itself is good, but I did not get the pump bottle as seen in the image, I got the type with the brush… Had specifically been looking for the pump type so pretty disappointed.

amazing coverage and formula

i absolutely LOVE this foundation. i'd say it has buildable coverage, i like using this with a powder to get full coverage. it doesn't oxidize or break me out, and it lasted for a full 8 hours out. my only issue is the packaging, the product leaks almost everytime i go to open it and i have no idea why, but it's not a huge deal. i recommend it!

Gave this product a Full Year before writing my reviews! Overall Mario’s foundation is a great product when it comes to those who tend to want a medium coverage routine look but also great for those who like to do a fill glam makeup routine! Was always given compliments about the radiance and glossiness of my skin! Being someone with combination skin, I will say overtime wearing my base I did have to powder up quite a few times around my t-zone and eventually would start to see my base slip...

It’s not for me

I wanted to love this, I just don’t. I bought with the foundation brush, it always turns out splotchy and oxidizes on me, I have tried so many foundations and have never had these issues. It’s a no from me, but I am sure others will love.

Obsessed is an understatement. This is now the only foundation I will use. It feels like a skin tint but with the coverage of a foundation. It matches my skin tone and texture to a T. It’s so easy to blend and apply! It doesn’t dry with an orange tint like others do on me. It’s seriously the best!!

One of my favorite foundations specifically for dry skin. I like to do 2 pumps for a night out. This is on the buildable side . Gives a nice glowy finish. I do find that i need to set it rather than just letting it lay on top. This foundation really works for dryer skin types in my opinion.

Initially Fabulous, But Turned Cakey

I thought the foundation was beautiful initially, love this skin like look while being full coverage, after a little while once i had finished my base per usual with my favs it looked oxidized and orange, maybe just does not fix well with other brands, not sure. I loved the neutral tone at first not too warm not too cool but did not stay the same shade. The packaging was sleek and minimal which I liked. I’ll have to try this some more with other combos to see how it preforms over time!

Absolutely LOVED this Makeup by Mario SurrealSkin Foundation. As a medium-toned skin girl, this shade was perfect! The finish was incredibly hydrating and beautiful. My skin felt so good and lightweight, but with the perfect amount of coverage. So happy with the shade extensions because this shade was perfect!

I was so excited to try this foundation, I have heard really good things about it. I saw that there were additions to the shade range, which made me even more excited! Perfect Foundation

This foundation is such a beautiful formula. I never knew my other foundations weren’t that good until I used this one that’s how amazing it is. It doesn’t cling to my dry patches. It doesn’t go on patchy either and it has a great amount of coverage and you can build it up no problem. It’s perfect for my skin too because it’s not too warm or cool. It lasts all day as well. Beautiful foundation

I love this foundation, it leaves my skin super bright and with a natural finish. It doesn't feel heavy but I don't know if it's the right one for me during the summer because I have oily skin but I still love it and it's perfect to use in the winter. Perfecto 💯

As a person who works more than 8 hours a day and I love to always have makeup on, I always look for a foundation that lasts at least 12 hours or that has medium coverage and really, this is one of my favorites. Right now I have been able to notice how it does not crack my skin, giving a spectacular finish. I am really fascinated that I even just bought two more shades so I can make another type of mixture. I like that this Surreal Foundation by Makeup by Mario doesn’t lean too cool or warm on skin. It balances my under eye darkness while giving it a bit of luminosity on skin also. This SurrealSkin Foundation by Makeup by Mario is just what I was looking for a hydrating and luminous foundation that would also work on my combination skin while being very bendable. The shade and not to cool or warm but very neutral which I love and look for in a foundation. I’ve been on the marketing for a foundation and I was super excited to try makeup by Marios options. The foundation feels so light weight on the skin yet providing really nice coverage. The formula is thicker than expected but it blends out great and feels light. It works with my normal to sometimes dry skin. I have to get a lighter shade as this was dark but was about to make it work.

I got this thanks to the Influenster program, I wanted to love this foundation but it just didn't work for me, it was a little hard to blend on my skin (mix skin) , I dont know if I didn't use the right tools or the right primer but it just didn't work for me, I am still willing to keep trying it but so far thats my experience.

My perfect shade!

I’m so glad the shade line was extended because the foundation is beautiful but I originally had to mix two shades to get the right one for me. The shade match is great! I got one of the new neutral shades and it’s perfect on my tan skin. I don’t look orange and a little goes a long way for coverage. The only thing I’m not a big fan of is that it’s fragrance free. It smells weird to me but none of my other friends notice it.

Really hydrated foundation that has a thicker coverage but looks smooth on my skin. It’s great they came out with more shades and I was excited to try one of Makeup by Mario’s products as they are always more on the glamor side yet luminous and neutral palettes

Skin like finish

Not to be dramatic, but this is hands-down the best foundation I’ve ever put on my skin and I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else ever again. I have normal skin and this provides the most smooth finish that looks like I’m wearing nothing. It’s incredibly luminous and it’s the perfect neutral- not too warm or too cool plus it lasts all day on me and looks like real skin. It’s very buildable but I really don’t need much to leave my skin looking absolutely perfect.

Buildable with an airbrush finish

The Mario foundation is light while providing full coverage. It’s so good that l can skip concealer when I wear it. It’s also buildable, which makes it great for subtle daytime looks or more airbrushed nighttime glam. I’ve found it works best layered on top of a makeup primer.

Loving SurrealSkin!!

I selected the SurrealSkin Luminous Hydrating Foundation in 17.5N online, and surprisingly the shade works for me. I have combination skin and this foundation provides medium coverage while helping to increase overall hydration. Although I’m over 40, this foundation seems like it’s suitable for all ages. I absolutely love the fact that this doesn’t oxidize on my skin. It also plays really well with powder!! In the future, I will definitely be trying more products from this brand!!

Love the coverage

This foundation has a really great coverage. I normally have to use concealer to cover up my freckles but this foundation hides it all without me using any concealer. I have dry skin and this didn't feel drying on my skn. The shade I chose matches exactly to my skin tone and blends in very well. This makes my skin look flawless and luminous and even skin tone. I only need a little and it goes a long way, the product is easy to blend and build. I highly recommend this foundation.

Worked with my combo skin

This foundation is forgiving to work with. I have combo skin with dry patches, and as long as I was primed prior, to using the product didn’t cling to the patches. I highly recommend using a primer prior to use to get a great base. This is also buildable with a nice glow once done. Loving this so far!

Better than expected

I have oily skin so I knew this wasn’t geared for my skin type but I really wanted to try it. It gives great medium buildable coverage with a glowy but not greasy finish. I did get oily throughout the day but I was impressed by how it held up.

This is the most amazing foundation ever! I wore it for my wedding and the way it sat on my skin and moved with me all night!!! It doesn’t look cakey but made my skin feel soft and smooth and without a single defect!

Heavy and very makeupy looking

This foundation is NOT for me. Even though the claim is medium coverage, this is very heavy and makeup looking on my face. In my super bright beauty lights it looks radiant and beautifully smooth but that does NOT in any way, translate in ANY other lighting. Clings to dry patches, settles into fine lines immediately, also looked ugly as a mixer, overall not for me.

Such an amazing foundation especially for dry skin. If you have oily skin im not sure how it would last since its super glowy. Im so glad they came out with more shades and undertones however i do wish there were more olive options.

I have combination skin and some texture(acne,blemishes) I feel like this foundation picked up every texture, pore, peach fuzz, you name it. I was awful I tried different ways of prepping and priming my face beforehand and it still was just horrible

Very glowy, great for summer!

This works awesome with my normal/dry skin. It is so hydrating, skin like, and sheer with one pump. It is buildable, too! It’s very moisturizing. The shade match is also pretty great! I would definitely recommend this as someone who doesn’t really wear foundation. This is great for a full face.

Absolutely fell in love with this foundation!! It goes on so smooth and lasts all day! Offers great coverage and doesn’t settle into fine lines or get cakey at all. I’ve used all the other name brands of foundation and this one is by far my favorite! Going back to get the blush and bronzer from makeup by Mario.

HOLY GRAIL!!!

My go TOOOOO!! I love HERRR!!!! no matter what primer or skin prep I use this foundation is so smooth and dewy! I use elf power girl and Bobbi brown primer with this foundation. And if you want a matte finish you can definitely make it happen too.

Wow!!!

Wow!!! I would give this 1000/10 if I could. I had been using a skin tint during the summer months when my skin was dewy, and fresh, but unfortunately in the winter, my skin is painfully dry and breaks out. The skin tint was doing nothing for me. I searched up hydrating foundations and this was the top result. I can absolutely see why. The way it doesn't stick to my dry patches blows my mind, and it blends so seamlessly into my skin whether I'm using my fingers or a sponge. Definitely recommend!

I really recommend going to the store and trying different shades in store before purchasing. I am neutral light but lean a little coolish. I would have purchased 4C purchasing online but in store I found some of the cool shades were actually warm. I ended up matching with 2N. Once you do find it, it is 100% worth it. My shade finder was to dark. Not happy with my purchase

Got this in store and while it's a beautiful foundation, it's not even my shade. Had an employee help me out and they gave me this. I wanted a natural looking foundation but when I put it on, I look like I smashed my face into a cake that's 3 shades too light. Now, while on my hand, it's a beautiful foundation. Shimmery, lightweight, and feels great but it clogs my pores so badly. Beautiful foundation but not for me.

Great to try out but not for me

After so many wears it stops working the same for me and maybe it’s just my skin that gets used to this product? I love the color it’s a perfect match, unfortunately this is my 3rd bottle but it’s because after 4-5 months it starts to separate even after shaking the bottle and I’m not sure if it expires quickly but that seems to be the case.

Not Great and Too Expensive

For a $60 foundation, I did expect a little more. It doesn’t sit on my skin well at all, doesn’t cover redness very well, and despite the 1C being a cool shade it still comes out pretty warm. I tend to break out after using it although that might be my dirty beauty blender…

The coverage of this foundation is great. I only have to use a small amount and it covers and blends well into the skin.
