Different Types Of Eyeliners You Can Find
- July 21, 2019
These days there is a variety of different types of eyeliners you can find. Depending on your desired look, here is what you can choose from in the market:
It is mainly used by makeup artists. It has a very intense and creamy formula.
Gel eyeliner comes in a pot that is supposed to be closed very well after any use, in order for the formula not to dry. It is normally applied with the eyeliner brush.
You can achieve any wanted looks with it, because of its versatile texture.
This eyeliner is probably one of the hardest to use from different types of eyeliners. It often has a very pointy tip and an intense formula, that dries super quick. It is the best to use liquid eyeliner for the cat eyes, sharp and defined lines.
Normally you will not be able to smudge it and blend it once it dries. So, make sure to have some patience, if you will try to use this type of eyeliner.
This is the beginners best friend. Pen eyeliner comes in the form of an actual pen. You can do defined lines with it and sometimes even smoke it out a bit.
Also, the way pen eyeliner is designed helps for a lot of beginners to learn to apply eyeliner in the easiest way. Of course, the formula is not always blendable.
These eyeliners should also always be closed very tight because they dry easily.
These eyeliners are usually used to apply on the waterline or tight line. They can be also used to create a smokey liner, but not very good for cat eyes since the formula does not apply that smooth.
Gel Automatic Pencils
Gel automatic pencils have a very strong and vibrant color. They can be easily blended and smudged at the beginning, but later they set and stay in place.
In addition, gel pencils almost look like the gel eyeliners in terms of formula, but they are more convenient to carry around. Also, they can stay very long.
The only down part is that they cannot create a very clean line just like the pencil eyeliners can’t.
Eyeshadow eyeliners require a brush and some water. You can spray the water directly on the liner, or first damp the brush and then dip it into the eyeshadow liner.
You can use it just in the same way as a gel eyeliner. The formula usually smudges a lot easier but tent to transfer, though.
Some people like to also use eyeshadow liner to set the liquid, gel or pen eyeliners. It can soften the lines and make the liner even darker.
Hope this shed more light on all the eyeliners out there.
